Bay City Rollers Les was a real star who brought joy to many, millions of course. And you know, their songs are really good!
Steinman - probably the greatest modern songwriter ever. I have a few albums which he wrote, I'm in awe every time I listen to them, he was really out on his own. His 1981 album Bad For Good is genius, crazed genius.
Danny - Thanks for the heads up, didn't realise how many posts we actually had on this thread
Andy - cheers!

Re: Who Remembers?
Anyone remember this type of radio from back in the day? Not only could you get the usual radio stations but you could receive aircraft and emergency services too. I used to spend many a happy evening listening to what the local police were doing and the flights up above.

Bloody hell that's a blast from the past, back in the 70's when I were a lad, my dad bought one, we could even pick up tv signals too, sound only obviously, but only downstairs as I remember
Re: Who Remembers?
Don't recall any particular one, but I remember listening to the police on a certain frequency.

Re: Who Remembers?
Was that a “ message in a bottle “ or “ Walking on the moon “ ?
Ford Capri 2.0 Laser 1987 Mercury Grey .......
Re: Who Remembers?
Certainly do Paul! There used to be pages of ads for such things in the back pages of the Mirror , several short bands plus aircraft, marine. A lot seemed to be russian. (Zenith???) I`m sure, in the very early `70s, weren`t the police on FM, just a bit up from Piccadilly Radio? Or was it on a short wave? Many happy hpurs listening to police, plus `the Voice of Amreica`, Radio Moscow. Those were the days!

Zenith made quite good quality SLR cameras which they sold for peanuts over here. I bought one when I was in my early teens but after a while it seemed too bulky and heavy for a 19 year old to take on and 18-dirty holiday to Ibiza so I then went on to a small compact 110 cassette camera. Anyone remember them?
Re: Who Remembers?
You mean these?
Handy but the film was just too small for great quality. (just noticed there`s a film still in it, must be 30+ years out of date.)
I also remember a mate who was into photography getting a Zenith SLR, they were quite respectable... It`s another skillset/hobby destroyed by the ubiquitous digital everything.
