To save people hunting. It's Linconshire which is not too bad for me (about 200 miles) but since my Capri hasn't run in over 3 years (long story) I'm not sure I'll make it. Would love to go tho, just have to see if I can get her ready in time.

Wow, would love to make it but as you say it's too far really. Shame as I love old aircraft, especially the Lanc'.andyd wrote:Found this on Capri Power via Facebook!

Looks like a great event but sadly too far for me, and an already busy weekend here with a car show and my daughters 21st birthday.
Have a good one

Taken from Capri World Facebook;
"Important announcement re 2020 Lancaster bomber event !
We probably won't be able to return thanks to a few people who this year upset the museum team!
Read on and reflect ? I guess the event has run its course ?
I didn't want to make this announcement public after the event but leaving the site on the day i already had an idea this would be the case.
Personally we as a family are very upset as you know we have always tried our best to make the day a success.
But this year was a challenge
For example the car load who argued over the entrance price ....
The attitude of a few drivers and disregard for speed leaving the site after being asked to keep speed down on the exit route ..
Has resulted in this response from the museum owners ..
I'm afraid that I keep losing staff who are happy to man the event because they are not happy with the way the drivers are talking to them.
I'll see if I can muster a team willing to come in".
Same old story, a few bad apples spoil the bunch

Re: Capri 50 Lancaster Bomber Event
What a shame.
A few selfish idiots, with apparent disregard for any common courtesy or respect, have ruined others enjoyment.
I empathise with the venue and staff/volunteers. Let's hope that they reconsider and remember that there are many more decent owners out there. Specifically, owners that don't feel the need to be rude and drive/behave like a cockwomble (sorry).
