Recaro refurb

In common with many Shark greys the upper bolster on the driver's seat of my 2.8 has been gradually getting more ratty and had worn through in a couple of places

Image

As I have a spare passenger seat I decided to use it to make a repair. Initially I was only going to replace the panel with the hoes in but the beading strip was also pretty ropey so I removed the complete section from the passenger seat cover.

The foam bolster itself also looked pretty rough

Image

So I cut the on off the passenger seat. It's glued on so needs to be prised off carefully

Image

A little spray on contact adhesive

Image

I tidied up the joint with a little silicon sealant

Image

After a bit of work with needle and thread the replacement panel was in place and the cover back on the seat

Now I need to reassemble the seat
