My 2.8 injection Special.

Post by Stish704 »

hey guys. A few of you will recognise this from a few shows that I've done. I bought it March 2015 from a really nice young guy who had looked after it. I am hopefully continuing the trend!
I've done a few bits since I bought it, re-sprayed the front wings as they were starting to have rust showing along the top where it meets the bonnet.
I re-striped it in the non standard burgundy and silver stripes as I liked the brighter ones better.
I've done a lot of mechanical works since I've had it as well. Mainly just little bits and pieces that needed doing.
Next on the agenda is getting the rear seats sorted as some of the stitching is becoming worn. Winter job there!
Anyway, hope you like! See you at a show or two?

Another lacquer red special... ;) Looks great, any more pics?

Sounds like some good work going on, mine is in a state of flux until next year but hopefully I'll see you at an event sometime this year.

Nothing drastic, just a bit of renewing and tinkering. Changed the rear wheel bearings as they was leaking slightly. Serviced it with new anti freeze , filters etc. The usual.

Hi mate,

Ahh...so....this is your car :D Nice one mate !

I remember it really well at Battlesbridge last year fella. I even took a photo of it myself. You will see it on my Battlesbridge 2015 thread I did on the Gallery section. I remember seeing it in the distance and just had to get closer for a proper look as it was a lovely Lacquer Red. Thought John had moved his for a min

Beautiful 2.8i Special mate. Great to be able to put an owner to it now and hopefully a "face" too if we meet up this summer. Imagine if you joined me and John in a convoy to one of the meets....THREE Lacquer Red Capris driving along together...and when Des finishes his we will have FOUR :D

Maybe next year at Simply Ford we can have a Lacquer Red Owners Club Stand or LROC

Looking forward to seeing it again. Sounds like you been very busy restoring it. Keep up the excellent work mate. Nice one !

All the best

Nick

A convoy would be cool! Got to be done. I'm still open to a few shows this year, maybe the big one at Santa pod? I know I'm doing a few in Kent including the oh so retro in sept. Perhaps we could arrange something and have an impromptu meet. Looking forward to meeting you.

Hey Steve, This is the picture I was telling you about that I took of your 2.8i Special at Battlesbridge last year. Nice one mate ! Was a brilliant show was this. Was amazing the turnout of Capri's and other Fords and yours certainly got the attention of both myself and John !

Yep. we really should try to meet up during the summer then mate. John gets to a load of these "local" shows so hopefully my work schedule will be kind to me so I can pop along with him to a few so be good to meet you at one of these ...oh yeah....and if I am allowed out to play by the missus too !

All the best now Steve,

Nick

Just passed it's MOT with no advisories! Well pleased! Guy in the garage said it's the cleanest one he's ever seen. Nice compliment.

Hi,
Well done, what a result!
I like it when the MOT tester makes a comment like that. After all, they get a great view of the underside when they're down in the pit. They know what they're talking about.

All the best,
Andrew.

Oh wow, thanks. Don't know when that was. Might be an older picture? Anyway, looks good from that view.
Well pleased about the MOT. Always a worrying time!
