1983 ford capri 1.6 L

Post by capri93 »

Hi guys,

I have a 1983 capri that I'm looking to sell, it was supposed to be an on going project but I simply do not have the time or the money to complete it.

The shell is relatively solid, though the bodywork is slightly tatty, I have one new patent front wing for it and one rear arch panel. The passenger's side rear arch has been replaced.

The engine unfortunately has seen better days, it's burning oil and plugs one and four are oily.

It's had two new rear tyres and it has the non standard alloys off a laser?

Any more details feel free to PM me.

Car is located on the east side of Birmingham.

Looking for around £1100

hi nice capri mate  the 1.6L capris are getting very rare now and your one must be the latest registered one ive seen being as its a 1983 one. i also live in birmingham but in kingstanding birmingham. i swear ive seen your capri around or another one very similar up by minworth where the big asda is. i first saw a red mk3 capri coming down the walmley ash road in minworth while i was coming the other way in my mum's car it looked a lot like yours but unfortunatly i didnt get the reg. then my mum said she saw a red mk3 capri down eachelhurst road one time when she was driving down there. i own a black capri laser :D

Hi mate, I sent a PM a couple of days ago, not sure if you got it. I am local to you and would like to come and have a look if possible. I am on holiday for a couple of weeks so could manage most times most days.

No its manual. Sadly the 'how many are left' website is based on the very flawed DVLA data. Practical classics were running features every month on it until realised it was way off. I can't remember exactly what it was but it was something weird like Volvo 240s and it came up with 20 as being convertibles.

Holy thread revival! After 6 years of graft with hundreds of hours of welding and mechanical work this 1.6L passed its MoT yesterday with no advisories. It’s been a long haul but worth it!

Superb result. It can be quite demanding when other matters take priority
