Hi, I have a Mk3 2.8i that needs a new sunroof seal. I am in New Zealand so don't have the luxury of visiting Tickover or BurtonPower first hand.
Can anyone confirm the Tickover sunroof seal (https://www.tickover.co.uk/shop/content ... p1882.html) fits and works well before I spend my hard earned money on shipping?! I have heard the Burton one didn't fit a friends one but not sure if they knew how to fit correctly (neither do I)
Also local expert said use the "with vinyl roof" one not the other (mine is not vinyl) as it's fractionally thinner and you have less chance of the roof
getting stuck on tilt or slide.

Hi,
I've heard that the aftermarket sunroof seals don't fit very well.
It has been known for people to fit the seal from a Mk2 Golf instead.

Better get some advice from Martin at Capri Gear or CCI before splashing your cash though.

Actually I’ve just bought a CCI one, my garage just fitted it and it looks good....
Bear in mind also I tried fitting a first one myself and ruined it. The best way is to remove the sunroof and re fit it... but I trusted it to the garage as it’s a very difficult job to get it all aligned back perfectly without damaging the paintwork....

A window otter makes a great replacement for a sunroof seal.
I'm the one who leaves all those shoes in the carriageway.

UPDATE, well took the plunge and ordered some other parts too. Turns out you are all right, though it's a pain to fit the Tickover one was good quality and fit the roof, problem is it won't shut
The seal is too hard on the compression side so does not compress enough to get the roof back in...... back to the start
