Mk3 Headlining Removal

Post by WeeksyCapri43 »

Hi All,

My headliner is looking a bit tired and cut up, I'm planning to replace it fairly soon if funds allow.
After a bit of inspection, it seems like i may need to remove the windscreen in order to replace it, gulp.

Is this the case or is there a way around it? Mine is the sunroof model if this makes a difference.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards
Weeksy

The headlining does go under the rubber seal for the screen. You will probably get the old one out OK but to do the new one properly the screen should be out. Having said that I did my 2.8 without removing the screen but you will need to trim the lining a little and glue it and try and push the edges under the rubber seal. It can be done but if you are buying a new lining it might not be the best idea. I was replacing with a s/h lining so had less to lose.

Ah great, don't mind doing a bit of trimming, have too much of a phobia of breaking the windscreen and finding a replacement

Thank you for the advice,
