Alternative fuel to unleaded

I just read your posting on the problems associated with use of unleaded fuel in older engines. What is the position with the use of CNG?
I don't know of anyone who is running a Capri on compressed natural gas but I'm sure that someone out there can prove me wrong. I don't know much about this but it can't be a popular conversion for such an old car, and I would think that performance would be badly affected as well.
