Nice one Jason. I've not seen that in the flesh although there was one in Oz with similar markingsJasonmarie wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 2:56 pm At long last I got a good picture today in the garden , as they come over most days , don’t think I have seen this one with the face at the front .

A couple of Spits flew over my garden last weekend but I had my head under the bonnet of the Capri so much too slow to catch a picture.

Just been watching Guy Martin learning how to dogfight in various planes. I think Spitfires would have to be the coolest things on the planet .....but in all fairness Im starting to think they might not quite deserve that accolade .....Hurricane ......say more? , And I watched a doco on the Corsair ......I love them radial engines

Yes it’s so nice to see , I think as we are all petrol heads you can’t beat the sound of a spitfire , my wife had spotted to Buzzards flying around and I was hoping they would fly back over the garden when the spitfire went over .
All Nick great picture but you need to update your black & white Box brownie

Re: One for Peter
Yes it's coming along Nige but don't take 'Just Jane will be flying soon' too literally. It's a good way off yet and they're leaving the biggest job to last - assessing and probably renewing the main spars. I reckon we could be close to drawing our pensions before we need to look skywards but I'll keep watching with interestnigecapri wrote: ↑Tue May 18, 2021 10:23 pm Another one for Peter; some promising news of Just Jane

How's things up north anyway Nige? You've not been about much for a while.

Re: One for Peter
Car sheeted down since the pups arrived end of July. Not much spare time at the moment with my new job in 'The Oil Business' alongside the fish job. I'm having to ration time on the web although I do have a shufty now & then.
But more time soon when I retire from fish in a few months
The wait to get her flying again will be well worth it & when she starts that first slow banking manoeuvre to circle the field there'll be plenty hard geezers who "just got a bit of dust in my eyes mate..."
You still busy sorting numbers?

Re: One for Peter
I get that just seeing them on tv , I could never get near the real thing without having a wee breakdown , not sure why, I mean they are the coolest thing around but even so . I guess maybe I think to much about those young men who fought for us. It all seem glamorous on tv but when you think about what it was really like , and I guess the sense of hope it must have given the English people to see them flying about .
