With a camera on mobile phones etc we don't have to wait anymore, still not the same as holding a picture or looking through a photo album

So far I have polaroids of Naples, Rome, Amsterdam, Cornwall, Majorca, Manchester, London... probably several more that I have forgotten!

Speak for yourself Andy - I've been taking this on holiday with me for a few years and take shots with me wherever I can!

I've still got one too! Films were quite expensive was the only drawback. Fantastic camera though, great idea, iconic. They did/do a digital version too with no films needed obviously.
Love the fact you're using that Danny, brilliant.

Re: Who Remembers?
Polaroid film is still quite pricey - the last pack I got was 8 shots for around £17-18 which is why I save it for special occasions - recently I had to try the same shot 3 times before it came out properly which was mildly annoyingly to say the least
The picture quality is still decent when you get a good shot (rarely happens!) - I'll have to dig them out later and try to upload a copy on here!

Here's one of my polaroids I took while down in Cornwall recently - it did take 3 or 4 attempts to get this right with the exposure and stuff but came out well in the end!

And earlier I noticed Polaroids featuring again, in a trailer for some new drama called Innocent, they're all over the place!

Yep , got a free capri with every camera bought .
I had a Asahi Pentax spotmatic slr my Dad bought new on one of his overseas jaunts , and when he went digital I got it with a shitload of lensy things, sunpac flash and bits of coloured glass ,anyhow whilst parked outside Dis parents some thieving little fuckers broke into my car and stole the whole lot .......turns out it was Di's nephews ( broken arsed druggie criminal little delinquents ) the stuff was long gone so a beating was administered and to this day ( 30 years later ) neither of them will stay in the same room as me without witnesses ......they wreaked most of the dash trying to get the stereo out ( mk4 teeny box ) anyhow that sorta ended my photography career . This has made me thing ,ya know me an Di have been together 35 years now and between us we have bugger all images and most of them would friggin cats ,guns or motorbikes .....huh she must have looked OK when I met her ......engaged to my boss .....oh fuck yeah ! We had an interesting start ..

Re: Who Remembers?
Faaark that was interesting , Cardiff huh ? didnt see any distressed looking sheep , did see a castle tho ....and a peacock, but no snow . Sorta highlights the passing of time when you see kids , dressed as they are ( no DC shoes , no cell ph , no cyborgs or rock stars on the T shirt , no glue bag or crack pipe and they didnt tag anything ..........bring it all back please ) no token black or asian kids tho ( wouldnt get away with that now ) . We still have those kids shows here but they are quite different now. I did like the idea of the "stranger danger" education thing ........unfortunately , here they tend to rape and murder their own babies .......New Zealands shame
I would love to take a tour on the top story of one of them busses , can you go on piss cruises ? convertibles are cool but being lifted up 2 stories has got to be fun .....whilst keeping a nervous eye out for low bridges .

Re: Who Remembers?
So true Paul. When I think about the things I had when I was a kid compared to what todays kids get, well it's unbelieveable. My bikes were secondhand cobbled together out of (usually stolen) bits and pieces and my most prized posession aged 11 was a small, made in Hong Kong, transistor radio that I sneakily hid under my pillow and listened to Radio Luxembourg on when I should be getting to sleep.
Most of us of a certain age managed without the luxuries today's kids have yet had a much better and happier childhood without needing our noses poked into a telephone screen 24/7.
