Now that was a toy. One of the best selling of the decade, incredible. I do have the figure.
Re: Who Remembers?
Hi Mags,
I remember the early/mid 70s you had to 'run them in', Dad had a few new cars around that time that's how I know. (Unless that was his excuse not to drive too fast )

Ha ! An Evil Kinevil toy would only have to crash miserably every time ,spitting the rider into a multiple bone shattering death roll to be considered life like ,specially if it spewed forth a load of shit as to just why that particular stunt failed......from a bed in the pre-opp suite of one of hundreds of hospitals. I spose you would have to consider his career a screaming success ,I mean lets face it, we only wanted to see just how bad his next disaster was, being not the slightest bit interested in seeing him actually succeed . What a looser

Cheers Paul, that makes me feel really old
Re: Who Remembers?
Hi Andy
You did indeed have to ‘run them in’, even in the 80s. I remember when we picked up our Capri. August 1985 it was and the car was brand new. It had running-in oil that was changed after a very short period and I was given some very basic instructions that I could use as many revs as I wanted – within reason – as long as I didn’t labour the engine. Knowing me I probably didn’t make it work hard enough.
What is worrying is that it doesn’t seem all that long ago to me.

Re: Who Remembers?
I can remember as a kid seeing home made signs on the back of cars saying "please pass running in " or similar, and yeah ,it doesn't seem so long ago .

Re: Who Remembers?
Yeah , I guess it does a bit , the main difference being that I learnt after the 1st bone shattering crash, where as ole Evil mindful of the saying "if at 1st you dont succeed ......" kept trying to kill himself ,not sure if he was trying to gain fame and notoriety or if he was just plain stubborn ....talk about dedicationFordoholic Nick wrote: ↑Fri Sep 18, 2020 1:22 am

Me too , always thought they were a bit budget for christmas decorations, and they tasted funny.......back in the good old days when you could still lick stuff like that .
