Re: my motor

Hi,
Lovely car, a real credit to you. 8-)
Lacquer red seems to really suit the lines of the Capri.

Re: Classic Ford Day Santa Pod...

Hi John,
I've only spoken to Ian a few times on the phone while arranging insurance, but he was telling me all about the hard work that's gone into the car. It looks like it was worth every hour he's spent on it!
What engine was in that Capri 3.2, a Jaguar straight 6 perhaps?

Re: "The Brookside" Capri 2.8

Hi,
If anyone is interested this car was relisted and sold on Sunday for £7350.
Very unusual, as relisted cars generally reach a lower price the second time around.

Re: speaker question

Hi,
Pioneer do some 6x4 speakers that will fit behind the original door grille. They can be had for a reasonable price. Try these:

Hi,
That's the right thing to do! :)
As I said a few posts ago, you now have peace of mind that the coupling should give trouble free service for a number of years.

Hi,
For a quick fix you could just do as will01 says. There won't be a problem passing the MOT like that.

Hi,
That's a sign of the times. A few short years ago your friend could have had an immaculate car for £5K. Now they seem to fetch a lot more.

Re: Classic Ford Day Santa Pod...

Hi John, Great pics, as always. Thanks for uploading them. Some fantastic cars at this show and a good day out by the look of it. The car in the first two pics belongs to Ian (burtr on here) doesn't it? Very nice! Is that some extreme wheel camber of the car off to the left in the first photo, or is...

Re: Modified Capris - It's a matter of personal taste.

Hi,
Some great photos there, thanks for taking the time to upload them.
Modified cars generally are a matter of individual taste. There are some elements of the cars that I like the look of, and some modifications I'm not so keen on.

Hi Nick,
You've got a fantastic car in beautiful condition, a real credit to you. It's a real head-turner as the passenger in that green Renault can confirm! :)

All the best,
Andrew.

Hi Nick,
Glad you had a good day out at the Classic Ford show. I saw the pics of last years show and it looks awesome!
Sorry to hear that your head is now nearly colour co-ordinated with your Laser! ;)

Re: Chassis number

Hi,
Well, I wasn't expecting that answer! If the car has been scrapped it wouldn't be possible to reclaim the chassis number anyway, would it?

Hi,
Funny that you should say that, as I was going to shamelessly copy your tipp-ex idea after seeing the photo that you posted, but changed my mind! :)

Re: Capri Meet in 4 Weeks!

Even though I have the day booked off from work I wouldn't want to turn up to a washed out meet with no Capris. I say yes. My thoughts exactly. Most people are travelling some distance to be there, so we want it to be a memorable day! Let's hope that the forecasted weather gets better for this week...

Type 9 Gearbox Tag Codes

Hi, My type 9 gearbox still has the build tag thing on the casing. I've read on an old thread that the codes can be deciphered on someone called Colin's website. I can't find any info on this site on Google, does anyone know if it still exists? Failing that, does anyone know if the info can be found...

Re: 2.8 speedo problems

No problem. Simple fix now go have a beer  Hi, Finally I've got to the bottom of this issue. I had a niggling feeling that the speedo driven gear was incorrect, so I bought the correct 22 teeth gear from Burton Power (although I believe that they are still available from Ford). As you can see...

Re: Capri Meet in 4 Weeks!

Hi, I'm looking forward to this meet. :) I'm definitely going if it's sunny, I may be going if there are light rain showers, but if there is heavy rain forecast I won't be attending, unfortunately. I know it's short notice, but if it's going to pour down next weekend and the weather looks like it wi...

Hi,
I'm curious to know why too. I can't imagine a situation where I would ever want a chassis number from a car I have previously owned. Please tell! :)
