I'm sure I've read in the past that the rear speaker pods need to be taken off. To get the tail gate in, at an angle.
Have a read though Laser's post's on CP.

Re: Goodbye to my hero dixy1949(Dad)

Re: Wanted Type 3 or Type E gearbox.

I bought it to build up my restored Capri MK1 shell as a manual (is an auto car), but i have decided to sell up the project, so as soon as the shell has gone then I ...

Thanks for the link, but it's a fair bit older than the one I've got. I've got a few irons in the fire at present.mgentry90 wrote:ta daa.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-CAPRI-Mk ... 19d0b5fbb0

Re: Wanted Type 3 or Type E gearbox.
is that the external linkage one matty? Hi Ian, No it's the internal linkage type I'm after. The one you mention is a Type F gearbox. I'm going to fit my spare Type 9 as a stop gap and borrow the prop shaft off the other car as the clutch assembly is nearly new and I have the correct flywheel in my...

Pete,
Try cutting back the thinner cables to the starter motor solenoid and fit new terminals.

Re: Engine resto with pics. Wot do u think i should do now?
Do you recommend i now sort the crankshaft and shells/bearings out? Is this easy? Any advice would be welcomed. When I was shown how to build engines 22 years ago, the guy that tought me told me gave me a money saving tip. Take the stripped engine block to be hot dipped over night. You could also as...

Re: Alternator- roller bearing removal
Once you strip the alternator, you will see if it is an interferance fit bearing. If it's on the shaft then I'd use a bearing puller. 2 or 3 legged. If it is stuck in the rear casing, then I'd use a couple of sockets in your vice. One either side a small one on the bearing and a larger clearance one...

Re: Best way to clean fuel tank?
I've just taken possession of a '78 Mk3 :drive: which has a 2002 tax disc and I think is safe to say has been sitting in the old boys garage for all, if not most of that time. So if my fingers are correct, almost 10 years! There is 1/4 tank fuel showing on the gauge. Clearly, I need to do something...
