Re: The Electric Vehicle experience..
Even if the charging worked (which for you it didn't), you still have a vehicle that stated a 170+ mile range, but in reality once you'd done 90 miles it was largely empty. Thats the problem as I see it. Even if you accept the compromise required of a battery vehicle - ie the charging takes longer t...

Re: What?
Wasn't going to contribute to this question until I had some hard evidence. Needed a new header tank for my 2.8i this week (old one split). None of the well known suppliers have either new repros nor second hand. I noted one second hand one changed hands on this forum last week, but that seems a luc...

Re: Another KGF Capri
As for 'concourse', and considering the asking price at least hoover the mats and clean the back seat, and as for 'totally original', you mean apart from the Janspeed exhaust and manifolds that I put on it. Car was painted too around 2008 (Some dealers :wank: ) Thats my person bugbear right there t...

Feel I didn't add the necessary adulation for running a Capri as an everyday driver. Good one.

Re: Twin webers on an everyday capri
good genuine dcoe' are not that thick on the ground Thats the crux of the matter. The guy is probably right that the twin set up is overkill, but I bet he knows he will be able to flip them to a waiting project somewhere. This does leave you wondering though whether you really need your carbs, so I...

Re: 2.8i Oil in water
Read this about 3 times and struggling to think of any other entry point for oil into coolant if the oil cooler has been taken out of the equation. But, if I had one new head gasket that had caused low compression on a fresh built up engine, I would not trust the other one either and replace them bo...

Re: Another KGF Capri
Flipping heck I've only just noticed this post. This Mark 1 from KGF belonged to my father from 2000 until he passed away late 2015. We sold the car Nov 2016. Mileage quoted by KGF, and on its MOT from February this year suggests it basically sat in a collection and did bugger all for 4 years, which...

Re: Engine hardware
I think the point is that any bolt that's the same size as the current ones will do. These are not high stressed fittings, they are just holding the covers in place firmly enough to be oil tight. Only word of note is: don't forget the little spring washers on the diff cover bolts - these stop them w...

Doesn't Bond push him over the cliff in it? One of Roger Moores tough moments as Bond, as opposed to endless eyebrows and wisecracks.

I like that. its a nice colour too, I wish people would order cars in nice colours these days instead of the endless monochromes you see everywhere.

I dunno, a post-apocalyptic look is a refreshing change from toothbrushed concourse jobs.
A mint 280 and its ironed-jeans owner wouldn't have got in that music video would it?

the guy gets a free bump to his topic if nothing else. He got a free JOKE, and there's nothing happier than that. But to be on-topic, the guy who did a bit of engine work on mine last autumn was all about those Aldi type trackers mentioned above. He said he has a couple with pay-as-you-go SIMs in t...

Good link, will try that, then put Cardinal red over it. Underneath its not that bad, just a few areas where flaked to bare metal so will prime it and then cover it with the Bilt Hamber Dynax UB which is a soft black gunge that never goes hard, that should protect I reckon.
Thanks Jason.
