Re: CRaP 2020 July 3/4/5

That sounds good, although there may be clashes it would be good to get it in the diaries.

It'll depend on what I'm doing closer to the time - I may need to work on the Sunday, but that said, I could make it if I got up early.

Re: CRaP 2020 July 3/4/5

I'd be certainly up for popping along for one day - is this a 'done' thing? Couldn't do the whole weekend, but could certainly come up for an evening or whatnot. As to rescheduling - if it's a quiet meet that'll be a lot easier to manage than a show environment. Just have to keep our 6'6" among...

Re: Cheap Fuel

It's been 99.7p at a couple of places for a while. I've bunged a few tanks of this into the daily. This, together with lockdown - and being sick for a week - has lead to me spending much less than normal on travel!

Re: So much for 'Drive It Day'

In the car park of the supermarket I jump started the 4th person in 4 weeks - the reaction when a Capri turns up and gets them going is hilarious. Do you spend a lot of time in Tesco, Tom? https://www.flickr.com/photos/64507381@N07/49825501153/in/dateposted/ Andrew. Whenever I meet up with To...

Re: So much for 'Drive It Day'

Took the Capri out today to do my essential journeys. In the car park of the supermarket I jump started the 4th person in 4 weeks - the reaction when a Capri turns up and gets them going is hilarious.

On the way home I happened across a certain gentleman at Muswell Hill...!

Re: Alternator bearings replacement

Thanks for this! I had a faulty alternator last year... when fault finding, John happened to touch the side of it and almost burnt his hand it was running so hot! Have got it somewhere so will strip down. Re the left hand/right hand question - the only alternator we could find for sale on a Sunday ...

Re: Oily Sparks

Absolutely, if you're getting a new one, even better! There's also a couple of people who supply the fixings c/w the correct spreader plates, I bought a new set at the same time to fit instead of the motley assortment of washers that was in place before. And of course they don't need to be too tight.

Re: Oily Sparks

I'm late to what seems to be a pretty rawkus party... but yes had exactly this when my rocker cover became incontinent. In my case the cover itself was rather uneven, so I spent a lot of time trial and error fitting and tapping it to be something near straight... then a fresh gasket and it was fine.

Re: MOT's extended for six months

I think they are planning on extending the MoT dates on the computer system although mine are still showing with the 'normal' dates due -fortunately in July/September. 6 months is sensible enough because there will be a large backlog when the testing regime starts again, with many 'excess' tests nee...

Re: Going For A Drive

I am fortunate (?) enough that I have reason to get out the house without interacting with people, being classed as a key worker, though primarily working from home at present. The Capri has been off the road for a few weeks whilst I did a few jobs, but will definitely be seeing use soon. I've never...

Re: The recent news...

It's all about common sense. Boris didn't, and couldn't, mention every scenario which every person may face. Going for a solo drive, or in pairs which I also think would be 'allowed' is not causing a risk. You could even classify that as your daily exercise if you drive to somewhere in the country ...

Re: Essex Capri Owners Meet - May, July, Sept

Hi, Sounds great, and yes you're right sometimes you need to just go for something. But it sounds like by nominating a few dates, there's a good chance of people being able to make it - for example I think the first date will be a stretch for me as I'm doing 2 shows the following weekend but will de...

Re: spot of rain

Last week I went to pick something up from Danny, (not in the Capri!) and there were several flooded sections of road along the way. All passable as the water was only just covering the road surface, but still much worse than I'd seen before. Went out yesterday during a brief respite in the rain, in...

It does many things - yes, all things that other products will do better - but as a multipurpose thing to keep in the back of the car, or toolbox, it's incredibly useful.
