Re: Capri 2.8i exhaust system

A 2.8 rides lower than standard 4 cylinder capris so clipping speed ramps is more likely. It will also be more likely if the suspension is a bit tired or, of course, if it has been lowered. As said, make sure the U clamps are turned sideways for a bit of extra clearance. No need to change both boxes...

Re: 2nd cylinder keeps on fouling spark plugs

I`ve read and re-read the posts and TBH I can`t see anything that suggests `Cliquism` and I`m bewildered as to who the `Lord of the Manor` is. If it`s the person I`m guessing at, there have obviously been crossed wires: I know the person concerned would be mortified if he thought he was being perce...

Re: 2nd cylinder keeps on fouling spark plugs

There's a good chance of that, it isn't exactly friendly and welcoming to new members, there is a certain clique. And the 'I'm better than you are' Lord of the manor member who is on here, it's just weird.... https://i.postimg.cc/3x7nZBq5/snowball-look-snowball.gif image hosting websites It relates...

Re: Advice on funny running

Could be a duff plug so try a replacement or swap with other cylinders and see if the problem moves with the plug. Same with leads. After that I would probably be looking at tappets

Re: 2nd cylinder keeps on fouling spark plugs

Yes it dose we thought the carb might have a leak and since it's above the second cylinder πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ but not sure I suspect cylinder 3 is the problem then, it's letting fuel past the rings which is why your oil level is going up. Fuel in the oil won't be doing engine lube any good. I have read about tip...

Re: 2nd cylinder keeps on fouling spark plugs

Coolant level is good and is steady. we've had the head off and we've reground the valves and put on a new head gasket and stem seals with new bolts through the head so I think we're ok with that Does the oil on the dipstick smell of fuel? Yes it dose we thought the carb might have a leak and since...

Re: Annual camping weekend - 30 June , 1 & 2 July

Having bitten the bullet and taken early retirement, I now find myself busier than ever. :xd: :xd: :xd: However, I'm keeping the weekend of 5-7 July 24 free. Hopefully that's the right dates? Yep that's the weekend it should be. Will confirm with them in the New Year - they didn't have a 2024 to pu...

You possibly want them anyway but if your car is old enough (pre 85 I believe) they are not compulsory.

Hello. Ive just got around to fitting Poly bushes to the ARBar and now the castellated nuts wont go on far enough to fit the split pins. I dont know how they originally went as i had the car in parts when i got it. Thanks. The bushes should have a large concave washer either side. The sunken part o...
