Re: Princess Brake Calipers.

Hi all, I’m new on here (well lurked for a long time) and already have a question. I was given a box of parts by someone who heard I was putting my Capri back on the road, in the parts was a set of refurbished (by Capri club international) princess callipers, vented discs and all the fitting kit. I...

Perfect timing!

The insurance renewal for the 2.0 has dropped on the mat. It asks for photos for the valuation bit. Guess I need to get on with things then!

Peter,
I`ve been trying to work out which mounting point that is, I`m thinking rear but is it left or right?

Re: Damn, he was right!

Is that just stress or is there some corrosion on the other side too? Something else to worry about. Looks OK underneath Steve. I'll clean it up to make sure but looks like a stress crack to me. https://i.postimg.cc/dtFjjc3q/DSC-0573.jpg Clean the crack out with a Dremel or similar Peter and then d...

Yes, welcome and ask away. Consider asking questions about a pinto rather than a crossflow though, if yours is original.

What would be the cause of a crack like that?
Just weakening of the metal over time?

Andrew.
I would think so Andrew, it's gone along the edge of the reinforcing plate underneath. Maybe need to slow a bit more on the cornersπŸ˜‰

Damn, he was right!

I had an mot advisory back in February as there was a sign of cracking around a driver's seat mount on the 2.0. Finally got around to having a look. Another little job to do!

Re: British Motor Museum

Hi Peter, Thanks for uploading these photos, great stuff! I've never been to Gaydon but I want to make the effort to go now, after seeing what's there. There are some wonderful exhibits there, for my sins, I especially like that TR7. It looks as though they've allowed plenty of space around the car...

British Motor Museum

Whilst on my little 'tour' in the last couple of days we weren't too far from the British Museum at Gaydon. The Capri was parked up in Kettering so I was slumming it in my mates ecoboost Fiesta but the museum was great with around 300 cars on display that chart the history of British motoring. I too...

Capri 'mini tour'

So this should have been Flying Legends weekend but it was cancelled due to a certain virus but as I and a friend had hotel rooms booked already we've made the most of the last couple of days and done our own thing which gave me the chance to get some tarmac under the wheels of the 2.8 :) Ready for ...
