Re: No power!

If it does, does that mean the alternator is past it? Also, if it doesn't work - any other ideas?? Hi Danny, When I first read the title, I was going to suggest that's a particular issue with the 4 cylinder engined cars ! :) By the sound of it, it's likely to be a battery/charging issue rather than...

Nice excuse, did those who saw you accept it!
I haven't caused this much trouble with a online query since I was searching for oversize avains belonging to the order Passerida. The results from my "Big Tits" threw up some surprises and raised some eyebrows, I can tell you !

Didn't Think it Through...

I was just doing some research on the 70s NASCAR driver Dick Brown. Some of the Google image search results weren't what I was expecting at all...... :headscratch:

Re: Doesn't everyone love a bargain !!!

I thought that everybody knew that the Chinese government subsidised the manufacture of electronic products.... As an aside, I bought an Ebay item from a seller in Japan on the evening of the 11th March and it was with me in the morning of the 16th. Now that's amazing! An item I bought fro...

Re: Fan belts from Tickover

Why all the interest in the size of David Gates' (or is it Gareth's?) belt anyway?

Apologies to anybody who was expecting a sensible contribution to the discussion.

But wait a question is your engine the original ? Or was your laser originally a 1.6 ?
Same engine though, isn't it? I'm no expert but I would wager that both the 1.6 and 2.0 pinto engines use the same size belts.

I had issues when I did mine, there are 2 sizes;
Gates 6219MC 975mm
Gates 6267MC 988mm
Don't forget the OP has a 2 litre.
Tickover show the 6263MC, which is 865mm, as the belt they supply for the 2.0.
According to the manufacturer's website, that is the correct part.

Re: Fan belts from Tickover

Hi, Gates are known as a good quality brand. I wouldn't think for a moment that you've been supplied an incorrect part by Tickover, they know their onions, but what part number is the one you've got? Don't forget that the belt will appear too small as you have to get it over the lip of the pulley......

In that case, the other drivers had the sense to park a good distance from Peter's gorgeous Capri!

Re: Breaking News

Yet another surprising mention of the Capri on the Chase! This time it was a contestant, called Alec or Alex, who said that he planned to retrim the interior of his 1985 2.8 Injection with any money he might win on the show. Is Alec/Alex anybody on this forum? He was quite clever but, sadly, the que...

I see you have the good sense to park such a stunning Capri well away from the other cars in the car park.

Re: Colour code??

I agree with the others, the colour is almost certainly diamond white. You could remove your VIN plate, the embossed characters could be much easier to read from the reverse side. The poor colour match of the aerosol could be attributable to the car being painted in the past and may not have been an...

That is a bargain, well done!

It would have cost the seller the best part of £3 to post it to you.

Hi,
The smallest size Carcoon that the Capri will fit in is a size 4.

On their website the distributors actually state that they supply one of their own power and charge units with every Carcoon.

Re: Tracker Locate

I found a company here https://www.trackerfit.co.uk/brands/tracker/tracker-locate.html ......They charge £285 plus subscription but that's cheaper than buying it direct from Tracker which works out at £462...how come it's a lot cheaper is there a catch? That company appears to have good reviews on ...
