hi can you still get the black sound proofing like ford used on the floor pans ect its like dried tar ?

Hi,
I don't believe you can buy the original spec of under-carpet sound proofing, but Capri Club sell a full set of this, which is probably the next best thing.

Newton Commercial do a kit as well, not sure if its the same as the Capri Club item but here is the link

This could be similar to the original bitumen style but you have to cut it your self

Bitumen pads. I get them from Kent International. Cut them to shape , warm up with a hot air gun and fit them.

Ahh the happy memories of chiselling that out of the floor before all the cutting and welding.
I'm the one that leaves all those shoes in the carriageway.

I use a heat gun on it to soften it before I attempt to remove it, seems to help a lot.
