Loom connector

Post by ARCHP »

Longshot, anyone recognise this connector socket as to where it goes or comes from. It dangles down behind dash. Cannot see a plug that will receive it.

it’s in the area of the clock.

Lol thanks Danny I had a quick look too and gave up and started cooking! There's another upside down Capri picture around too, can't remember where.

Dob't recognise the connector either sorry!

Is there power there? , switched by ign SW ?
It might not go anywhere , sometimes looms are made to fit several model variants .
Maybe ashtray or ciggy lighter /ciggy lighter lumination ,or even to light up shifter on automatic option.
Sometimes I talk to myself ... and we both have a good laugh

I don’t recognise it and I’ve spent hours recently tracing looms. I spent 2 hours at the weekend chasing a wiring loom that ended up in the engine bay all taped up and doing nothing. I then traced it back and it was partially wired into the hazard lights so I came to the conclusion it was part of an alarm at some point in its life so that got ejected.

It's close to the cig lighter and clock wiring , looks like it's on a MK2 so I would think it is one of the switches in the fascia below the heater panel or possibly one of the switches that early MK2 had in the lower dash panel next to the ashtray.

As I suspected, it's the connector for the rear wiper switch on the early MK2 models
