Stainless Steel Manifold/Exhaust for a Pinto

Post by Toxcity »

Hey guys! I know this has been asked a few times over the years but most of the threads I found were out of date with what was available.

Can anyone recommend a company that can supply a full stainless system for a Pinto powered MK3?

Thanks!
Nic

Possibly your best option would be to get one custom made as, I believe, there isn't a company that can supply an off-the-shelf stainless exhaust anymore.

Try Longlife Exhausts, nearest to Oxford is probably Basingstoke? https://www.longlife.co.uk/longlife-basingstoke

Unit 1 Moniton Trading Estate
Westham Lane
Basingstoke

Telephone 01256 321800

If a manifold is too expensive keep yours or buy a Sportex https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/354959659098 ... R-qsnMLCYg and get either ceramic coated?

When I had mine done - probably 2018/19 Ish - Powerflow wouldn't make me a manifold for whatever reason and said they only did from the end of the manifold back

I had a manifold custom made for £450, but there also off the shelf options
https://hpemotorsport.co.uk/shop/exhaus ... -manifold/

Once I'd had the manifold done Powerflow were good and sorted the rest of the system and I've not worried about any of it since. If it helps, back then it was another £450 to get the rest of the system made and fitted

Cheers

But the peeple want a car dat sound like Daddy's car!

Thing is everyone is so feeble these days that I bet these take off and they become a prestige tuning part. Like, if our exhausts are a bit loud, it's because they're performance enhancing, the sound is a, sometimes unwelcome, biproduct. These devices are just an additional power drain.

Imagine them all lined up at a car meet seeing who has the loudest "exhaust". I hope they at least make one that sounds like a Jetson's car. Ooh, I wonder if they can be hacked

Thanks guys! I'm in Devon now not Oxford, just updated my profile
The HPE manifold is stunning. Not sure if it's a straight fit due to this in the description - "Will not fit with standard servo tower in place. Comes with a 2.5" Collector". That could be just for the Escort though.

Thanks for all the suggestions! May go for the HPE Manifold and then get a custom system made. Was expecting custom but was hoping I could just get a system commissioned and delivered as surely once you've done one you've done them all?

My XR3 has a manifold made by this company https://www.alunox.co.uk/exhaust-system ... manifolds/

The previous owner paid £1700 for it hidden under a heat shield plus over £300 elsewhere for a Piper stainless system, expensive but sounds great!

Worst case you could always buy the HPE one and if it doesn't fit return it??

No idea if it fitted the Capri, at the time I figured the same thing which is why I had one custom made

Powerflow are franchises all over the country so worth checking their website to see if they have one closer to you

Hi mate

I got a full system made up by Hayward and Scott who are in Essex. Very good quality and a great fit as they design, build and fit it all in house.

But I don't think he wants it fitted in house. I think he wants one fitted on car.
