Steering column shroud

Post by ARCHP »

Morning, anyone tell me how to remove the small upper column shroud. Looking up I can see a small what looks plastic spigot, does it have nut on?

If I remember rightly drop the lower shround then the upper one just pushes up and off.

There is definitely a spigot with a small sleeve round it stopping it from going up.

I think the cone-shaped spigot pushes into a sleeve on the top of the steering column. Let me take a photographic image of mine and digitally upload it onto this page so you can see what we mean good sir.
I'm the one that leaves all those shoes in the carriageway.

Agree, the upper part has a pin underneath which presses into a plastic bushed hole in a bracket above the column. Just a push fit.

Decided to take indicator stalk off. This is what I found. The metal split ring stops the cover being able to move up.
