Flyover - Three Plane Memorial

Post by pbar »

They often have flyovers at the rallies/shows, but this one was incredible as it had the golden three - Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane. Truly breathtaking to see. They circled several times before they went off to another site.

Three iconic planes there Paul

We had the Lancaster fly low over our house last year to a display just across the estuary, great sight and sound :D Hopefully see it again July 1st this year.

It's marvellous to see these old planes flying over us and long may they do so but we must never forget the brave men and women who gave their lives flying them 80+ years ago to keep us all (relatively) free.

:agree: 100% Paul!

Often get a tear in my eye when I see these aircraft on T/V or in person, we must not forget the pilots etc from WW2!

Sadly it seems far too many younger than ourselves know nothing or very little about that war and generation, so it should be on the school curriculum around the 11/12 year olds and they should also watch footage of the blitz as an eye opener, there's plenty on certain T/V channels about it from time to time.

It's actually extremely offensive to National Socialists all this. Poor old Uncle Adolf would be mortified to see those symbols of the patriarchy flying around.
