MK1 chassis/body weight

Post by Embo »

Thank you in advance for your response. I want to know if anyone knows the body weight of the MK1 Capri. Bone dry, chassis, doors, hood (bonnet), trunk lid.
Trying to figure out where my total weight may end up, to plan for suspension variables.
I recently moved these items on a dolly and it did not "feel" super heavy.
And I understand the weight of the complete 4 cylinder car is around 2200 lb.
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
cheers

So basically a rolling shell minus engine and gearbox, or without suspension, axles too I guess? You`ll find weight of the pinto engine either here or pistonheads, but as for suspension, axles etc... might be a bit harder. I guess tho COMPLETELY stripped it won`t be THAT heavy - especially compared to the weight of batteries you`ll be fitting ;) Sorry can`t be nore help.

A Pinto engine and box is about 500lb, without the exhaust and other bits needed to keep it going you are going to be at about 1500lbs.
