Headlight washer relay
Hi,
does anybody know if it's possible to set opreration time of headlight washers? Something inside relay what could be set?
On my Capri it's around 0.5 sec. On right headlight it's ok (on LHD washer tank is on the right side), but left headlight has longer hoses and in 0.5 sec it only starts to squirt. So it starts to squirt and ends immediately.
Thanks.
Tom

Re: Headlight washer relay
...or are there any pressure valves in washers, which could be stuck?

The pipe must be empty when you are putting them on. On mine the pipe stays full so as soon as I put them on they spray water. Is there supposed to a valve or do you have an air leak allowing the water to escape? Put some news paper under the car and see if it catches any drips.

It didn't look that there is any leak, but I will check it once more.

It's an old machine.

Re: Headlight washer relay
Bit of overkill but if you`re prepaed to do a bit of wiring, you could replace the relay with something like this for a fiver (???) and give you adjustable time. Set it up then put away under the dash?

Re: Headlight washer relay
Hi,
I want my Capri to be as original as possible. So if I want to solve this I will inspect that washer or try another relay or anything else.
But thanks for info about this possibility.
