Both bridges.
About 2 mins after taking the last pic , the old bridge piles , I was up to my armpits in the river. In my haste to move on I forgot to secure my fishing rod which fell off part way across river and got washed up against the piles just where there is a bit of white water ,. With no chance of reaching it from the quad parked it on riverside and went into the river on foot ( ha ha ) and lost ballance and fell on my arse ( again ) ,wound up chucking my crutches ,jandal and rod up on to the gravel bank and scooted out on my arse . Didnt even see a #ucking fish πŸ˜πŸ˜†

No self-respecting fish is going to hang around while you're crashing about though is it? :xd:

Not really the right time of day for trout (twas 3pmish ), better at change of light .
Swimming about under the willows will often reveal trout , and they will sit on the bottom as thats where the water is coolest, you can damn near grab them .

Wow Mr Hamish,

That's a stunning location to go fishing mate. Sorry it all went a bit tits up on you

I really enjoy going fishing too mate but in not such a stunning location as where you go but I'm sure we both have the same feeling of satisfaction landing a great catch. In my case a battered cod.... :)

Ah ,me and this river are old adversaries , cant count the times I have been for an unintentional swim . I have lived on this river for 20 years . I have left firearms in the bottom of pools , quads floating up side down overnight ( the neutral light was still on next day and I tipped it on its wheels , drained the water out and rode it home .....oil looked like mayonnaise). Getting washed under the willows wearing boots ,an army great coat ,pockets full of shotgun ammo , bino's ,shotgun .....you tend to strip off anything thats dragging you down . Got it all back next day .😁
You will love this
