Spongey spoiler

Anyone got a sure fire super duper way to make the spongey spoiler look all shiny and black again? Mines looking somewhat a shadow of its former self.

I always used Autoglym Bumper and Trim Gel on my Capri spoiler and bumper end caps

Autoglym as said, or black shoe polish works a treat.

Have to be the smooth and not if you live near squirrels.

But tbh, AG is the best bet.

Up until recently I would agree on the Autoglym but I was given some Meguiars Ultimate Black Plastic Restorer to try by a local supplier. I have to say I am impressed, it lasts a lot longer than the Autoglym and is worth the money.

I don’t want a herd of squiggles chasing me around chewing lumps out of the spongey spoiler! Or to invite mice to dinner whilst it’s stood. I think I’ll stick to the chemical alternatives listed!

Like you said it has to be the Smooth Peanut Butter. Amazing how it actually worked !! It has oils which really did enhance the black spoiler but it did not last very long and did kinda smell of peanut butter

Someone ought to make a fibreglass or plastic aftermarket one. There must be enough Capris around Europe with ropey spoilers to warrant this. Obviously this would not appeal to the concourse merchants but to those of us who want a tidy car it would be fine.

I am not an expert in this field but I wonder if you could get a 3d printer to make up a spoiler from say fibreglass or some form of plastic. I'd deffo be interested to see if possible . Wonder how much it would cost too

Yes not one for the concours club but im way too far gone with my mods anyway
