Hi All,
What is the best way to tighten up the clamp bolt on a 2.8i distributor when adjusting the timing.
As you know there is limited space to access the bolt which secures the clamp and you are working blind by feel only, any ideas on this ?
Thanks Kelvin

I use a short 13mm ring spanner... that's a pinto though

Also just slacken it off a teeny bit, no need to have it loose, just loose enough.

Not familiar with the 2.8 ....get a cheap spanner and cut , weld and or bend it to make life easy
Sometimes I talk to myself ... and we both have a good laugh

I use a socket in conjunction with an extension and a universal joint.
From memory, set up in this order, a ratchet/extension/UJ/socket will get to where you need it.

A small 10mm ring spanner will do it. There's not a lot of space but slacken the bolt slightly so the dizzy just turns, tighten it up once your timing is OK and then check it is still where you want it and you should be fine.
