Love a XR3 , rare model now . I had a 1990 Mercury grey XR3I . Nice one andy
Hi JM.
The XR3 is rarer but quite a few still about.
Still plenty of XR3i varients around and the amount of interest in our cars at shows is high, so goes to show how many people can relate to the XR range of cars (Not unlike the Capri).
Nothing wrong with the later cars I had a 1989 3i, just personal preference
No really nice , we use to have the data post xr3 in red at work for sometime as it was used to do an advert . They also used Xr3 ‘s at brands hatch for training .
I will have to get up in the loft and have a look as they did a big line up of red xr3 back in the day and I had photos from that .

Only 3 TTW cars remain, 83W is original and sold recently through Mattewsons, 100W and 105W have both been fully restored.
You’re good , that’s it I have a poster of the cars lined up I thought it was on a special track never guessed it was a road . 1980 I was 11 then as well so my grandad was still working at ford Dagenham as I got the posters from him in his office .
Where does time go .

Basically a new car that's as clean underneath as it is on top, and has cost me less than the Stag would have to address it's ongoing issues or even get it close to the XR standard!
Hi Andy,
Sorry, I missed this post! The XR looks amazing, I take it you still own it?

Andrew.
Hi Andrew,
It's done a few dry weather shows over the last month (somethings never change )
It's really clean and tbh having strangers too close to it is a little uncomfortable, but so far so good.
The alternative is a cheaper car that may well cost £££s every year in repairs etc so you really can't win

Replying to Andrew reminded me JM,
I was chatting to a chap on Sunday at a local car show, he was a salesman for Ford in 70s and 80s and he was driving in this line up of 400 or so and his car was TTW220W
Great what you can find out just talking to complete strangers

It’s a small world we live in , funny how we remember adverts and cars back then . Car looking good andy
Great to see another Escort mk3 owner on here. I've had this one for 10 years (5 years longer than my Capri). It's a 1985 1.1 Popular. Your Xr3 looks incredible!
