False alarm

Post by Mc Tool »

In my Capri , getting fuel from a self serve at local garage. Driving out required driving past the open workshop door of garage .... just as I hit 2nd gear I hear this god awful clattering noise , and did the panic stop , wondering what mechanical shit had just descended on me , I looks up to see mechanic in workshop walking round a car on the hoist ........ with a rattle gun ( pneumatic impact driver ) in his grubby mitt  bastard :xd:

Is the Capri on the road then or is this a tale of nostalgia?

Officially still off road but I had to move it out of the shed to get at my stack of 600 fence pailings and I coundnt push it so I tipped 5l of fuel in the tank ,removed cam cover and smeared moly sulphide assembly grease all over the cam , tipped a bit of fuel down the carb bowl vent and kicked her in the guts . Started easily but very smokey due to the oil I had sloshed around empty tank to stop rusting . So I took a wee drive to fuel stop 10 km,s away. No easy task .....driving a manual with only one leg,and TBH I had forgotten about that till I got in the car to back it out of the shed. Yeah , as unbelievable as it seems I actually do forget and make a plan to do something which grinds to a halt when I realise I cant dig a post hole (why the 600 pailings are still in the shed ) or climb a ladder (grass growing in the spouting )
I have a deal going with my niebough where I give him fish Ive caught and he helps me out 😁

That would explain a little mild consternation on your part
