Nice find, Andy.
That's a fantastic looking example.
How much did it "sell" for in the program, I can't remember.

Bit of dust on the interior

The ashtray and switchgear have some wear too, all good on an original car but personally I would have to address that on a recently refurbed car.

I can't remember what it sold for I'm thinking around £15k :headscratch:

I would prefer to see the original stereo still fitted, but other than that it looks good to me. 8-)

If I remember correctly it sold for a tad under £12k, as for original, it's a bloody long way off that!

:agree: Martin.

I think a car dealers idea of original means unmodified and an extra £10k on the price. It should say standard looking car (apart from the radio :) ).

To me original means it has the same untouched panels, paint, lights, interior and mechanical parts or standard type/oem replacement parts.

Anyone that saw the episode knows this car has had a repaint, bonnet repair, replacement refubished seats and who knows what else.

I have a more flexible idea of an "original car", personally, I feel that if the replacement parts match what the car came with from the factory, that's fine. For example, the seats have been refurbished or even replaced with better condition ones - that's fine. The radio, however, is not.

You have to remember that even the newest Capris are very nearly 36 years old, how many cars out there retain all their original parts (except for serviceable parts, of course)? Not many, I would imagine.

I think original means like when my mother in law was at Stonehenge the first day it opened as she said there was a drive threw that was the first to open called “ woolly mammoth burger bar “ where the T Rex Burger was the real deal , as Mac Donald’s does not have a patch now .
