exterior door trim removal?

exterior door trim removal?

Does anyone know how the metal/ alloy trim found at the base of the door glass on a mk3 is removed from the top of the door skin? The glass wiping strip/ seal is fitted to it, which came out ok but this metal trim is on really well and i dont want to force it and break / bend anything!

You need to get something inbetween the trim and the top of the door to lever it upwards.
Obviously protect the paintwork well.
