(Hoping that will relieve me of the worry of him spending some of his millions on a high class hitman!)

Bloody hell, you could buy a detached house for that even here in Buckinghamshire. Or buy the whole of Wales! (light blue touch paper and stand back 20 feet!)

I sold my Cossie in 1990 for £14K.

That earthquake was nothing compared to the aftershock we felt from the time when you accidentally dropped your wallet on the floor!

Probably not far off the truth, Paul!

When you sold yours for £14K, did you think the market for them had flatlined then?
If only you knew then what you know now!

Andrew.

I've also had two Cossie Sapphires that I flipped for about £6K each and another white 3door that I sold for £7K to my MOT tester. He still has it the git.
I also had a Lotus Carlton sold for £19K and several RS2000, a Mexico reg OOO 707M which was stolen one night, probably 20 Capris including a black 2.8i special which was 2 years old at the time, a Sierra 2.0iS (very rare) , a mint condition Fjord blue 2.3S Cortina MK4 which was one of the nicest of the over 200 Cortinas MK3,4 and 5 that I have bought and sold.

If I could have had a heated barn to keep all the lovely cars I've had from a FSO Polonez up to a 911SC and a 500SL Merc I could now sell them and retire a Multi Millionaire. I even had an old Rolls Royce Silver Shadow once but it was a right dog and I traded it on PDQ.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing............

It's funny but of all the cars I've had my two favourites are firstly my Skoda Fabia VRS mk1. Magic little diesel with 130 bhp but more torque than most V8's. I bought it new in 2005 and sold it to a mate in 2012 when I bought my Octavia VRS estate. My mate still has it and it's now got 120,000 and has only had an alternator and a window regulator in nearly 18 years. Not bad is it.

I think my absolute favourite (other than my beloved MK2 2.0S Capri) was my white Ciroen BX 16V Gti. This was an absolutely magic car, extremely fast yet so comfortable. I was running my garage at the time and was clocking up starship mileages - I took it from 40,000 up to 109,000 in two years. It was still in perfect condition when I sold it and was the only car I ever got caught speeding in - 105mph on the M27 near Southampton. (Didn't get banned - only £100 and 3 points!) It's now another rare one that is getting valuable and should be in my mythical barn!

About 10 years ago mate had a Fabia VRS that had been mapped and that thing flew
