Gearbox mount modification

Post by Jumper »

Does anybody have any picture of the gearbox mount modifications needed when changing from a 4 speed to 5 speed (T9) gearbox? Cheers

You may need different propshaft too. Most boxes are 23 spline, but some 4 speeds are 20 spline. What box are you replacing?
I'm the one who leaves all those shoes in the carriageway.

I hope these help.
All the best

PS
This shows how my son and I solved this problem.
The centre section is welded to the side sections by using two 20mm dia. lengths of steel tubing. This set up should give you the strength, the front/rear offset plus the difference in height you could need.

PPS: It's fitted to a V6 Cologne

Thanks Major Tom & Steve - a big help. I am replacing the standard 4 speed box and I do need to replace the propshaft - different number of splines and a different length, I think. Thank you.
