I will keep getting mine tested just as Andy and Jason have said tbey will and Im sure many others here too. There wont be the same anxious atmosphere and will be a great way to have the underside properly looked over

Good points Nick, and with the other posts too guys. It begs the question though, what happens if the voluntary MOT 'fails'. I guess it's the same as now, in that it gets recorded and you must rectify within the time period. That would mean the same anxious feeling remains I guess!

It will be a nice feeling to not be focred to have an MOT though when exempt. I think that I, and many others, will check the cars themselves with an increased vigilance, I think that I would do so without the safety net of the tester. These days I do like to get under my cars frequently to check what's going on, grease up, clean up, tidy up. I find it very satisfying actually.

If it fails it must be fixed as classed unroadworthy.

MOT test or dentist, I don't know which is worse

I've got an Mot coming up at an unknown garage and I have a letter sitting on the side saying my dental check up is due. And I can't really ignore is as I broke a tooth recently and the filling came out. Fun times😕

One down one to go. The 'filling station' is next month but the other one was ticked off the list this morning. The man he say pass :)

Seem like decent chaps, nothing too modern about the place so I'll take the 2.8 there in the summer.

Nice one, Peter!
Plus, good news that you've already found a suitable replacement garage.

Andrew.
