Runnymede Jan 2022 Breakfast meet. Busy one!!!

Post by Taff50ish »

Hi all,

(Just finished this and now I realise this is very pic heavy. Get a cuppa!!! You have been warned.... :xd: :xd: :xd: )

So I was able to sneak out again today and get down to Runnymede again for the Petrol Heads Breakfast meet. Wow, what a busy one this was. I got there about 09:10, the meet having started at 09:00. I was able to get nicely parked up down at the end where it can get very busy with the direction of one of the Petrol Head stewards (Cheers if you're reading this...)

So as I say, it was so busy and just kept getting busier & busier all the time... So I'm not too sure where to start now. I know, we'll go with the Americana Cars first, there where some real crackers here I can tell you... but with a couple of others thrown in for good measure to get the ball rolling...

ImageMix up a by jon taylor, on Flickr

This was the meaning of the word HUGE!!! I had to stand well back to get all this in....
ImageAmericana o1 by jon taylor, on Flickr
ImageAmericana o by jon taylor, on Flickr
Then through the window.... I recon you could play Hide n Seek in this....
ImageAmericana o2 by jon taylor, on Flickr

One I've seen down a few meets before, but still just stunning... And you got-a-love the General Lee wheels....
ImageAmericana p by jon taylor, on Flickr

I know this is a Ford, but it sure reminds me of the GTO....
ImageAmericana q by jon taylor, on Flickr

I don't think I've seen one of these before, but I'm glad I did today....
ImageAmericana r by jon taylor, on Flickr
ImageAmericana r1 by jon taylor, on Flickr

How much do you recon the Chrome on the front of this weighs???
ImageAmericana s by jon taylor, on Flickr

And they just kept on coming in... Another one I don't think I've seen before here and it did get a lot of attention too...
ImageAmericana n by jon taylor, on Flickr

Another want-to-be GTO???
ImageAmericana a1 by jon taylor, on Flickr
ImageAmericana a by jon taylor, on Flickr

I finally worked out how to get 2 to fit in one shot...
ImageAmericana t by jon taylor, on Flickr

We've got a Mustang sneaking in here, so we'll stick with the Mustangs for a bit after this I recon....
ImageAmericana u by jon taylor, on Flickr

Here we go, a slightly better view of this beauty!!!!
ImageAmericana e by jon taylor, on Flickr

I hope you like Mustangs, there are a few!!! But when they look this good and all different....
ImageAmericana k by jon taylor, on Flickr

Subtle modifications...
ImageAmericana j by jon taylor, on Flickr

Slightly more original if this is your thing???
ImageAmericana i by jon taylor, on Flickr

Just looks mean!!!
ImageAmericana f by jon taylor, on Flickr

OK, we got one with the bonnet (sorry, hood) up!!!! Engine shot, what do you recon???
ImageAmericana g by jon taylor, on Flickr

OK, Yep.... Engine shot!!!
ImageAmericana h by jon taylor, on Flickr
Sorry about the quality, the Sun was merciless this morning....

So, if we're now done with the Mustang, lets go for a stunning Camero!!! You must love these???
ImageAmericana b by jon taylor, on Flickr
ImageAmericana d by jon taylor, on Flickr
ImageAmericana c by jon taylor, on Flickr

And a slightly different take on a Camero here...
ImageAmericana m by jon taylor, on Flickr

And on to a Corvette then... Even though the Sun was tough to work with, this came up a treat, I didn't even get my shadow across this one!!! Well, just a little......
ImageAmericana l by jon taylor, on Flickr

Well, I think this does it for the Americana cars... So how about the Americana Trucks then???

Lets start with this one!!! Nice and dirty!!!
ImageAmericana Truck d by jon taylor, on Flickr
There was always someone round this and I could not get a better pic... Is this The fall Guys truck, with the smaller cab???

Lets get a Ford in here quickly!!!
ImageAmericana Truck a by jon taylor, on Flickr

A bit slammed here...
ImageAmericana Truck c by jon taylor, on Flickr

And a very nice Step-Side.... Looks nearly original???
ImageAmericana Truck b by jon taylor, on Flickr

So lets finish the Americana section with this amazing motor!!! Not really my thing, but you just got love this when you stand next to it...
ImageBooick by jon taylor, on Flickr

So, I suppose we need to get onto the Euros then. How should we start this???? I know, a cross-over which thinks its American... How does this tickle your fancy??? If not, maybe the plate does???
ImageBat Mobile a by jon taylor, on Flickr
ImageBat Mobile b by jon taylor, on Flickr
I was on the look out for Adam West or Burt Ward, but the closest I got was AdamC..... :xd:  :xd:

OK then, from the Wacky to the stunning.... Who honestly did NOT want one of these at some point???
ImageAudi UR a by jon taylor, on Flickr
ImageAudi UR b by jon taylor, on Flickr
Full flared arch, UR Quattro...

ImageBeach Buggy a by jon taylor, on Flickr
ImageBeach Bugggy c by jon taylor, on Flickr
ImageBeach Buggy b by jon taylor, on Flickr

Lets keep with the VW theme for a short while!!! Looking good the Corrado's now...
ImageVW e by jon taylor, on Flickr

A very nice pair. Hard top & soft top!!! Brilliant again...
ImageVW b by jon taylor, on Flickr

Lets use the old light holder for an air intake and stick the badge over the other one!!! This really was a tidy motor!!!
ImageVW a by jon taylor, on Flickr

And a very nice pair to finish the VW's off then!!!!
ImageVW d by jon taylor, on Flickr

Got the modern lighting up front. Looks good but I'm unsure for my personal taste...
ImageVW c by jon taylor, on Flickr

And VW based...
ImagePorky a by jon taylor, on Flickr

And finish this section off with a German. What a stunning little car this is...
ImageBMW a by jon taylor, on Flickr

What shall we go onto now? How about a nice race car???
ImageRace you c by jon taylor, on Flickr
ImageRace you b by jon taylor, on Flickr

ImageTool a by jon taylor, on Flickr
ImageTool b by jon taylor, on Flickr

So a little lost where to go from this....???? I know, full on Luxury!!! This was Clean!!!!
ImageRR a by jon taylor, on Flickr

Tell you what, now I've started with the Brit's, lets keep going on this theme for now!!!

Hows about a few Fast Brits??? Don't know who couldn't be bothered to wash the Capri next to this!!!
ImageTVR a by jon taylor, on Flickr

ImageBL e by jon taylor, on Flickr

ImageBL c by jon taylor, on Flickr

And another stag...
ImageBL a by jon taylor, on Flickr

Well, I guess we'd best get to the Ford's then, but just before we do, a little treat for the 2 wheel fans amongst us...
ImageDuke 2 wheel porn by jon taylor, on Flickr
Wow!!! Still working too!!!

So, onto the Fords, as ever the Escort theme was strong here, so lets start with this and a very nice, what I think is a Roman Bronze Escort. The same as my dad had on a MKIII Cortina... Before the drivers door fell off on the M62 less than a week old!!!!
ImageEscort c by jon taylor, on Flickr
ImageEscort d by jon taylor, on Flickr

I do like the MKII RS2000....

Some how understated, but right in your face at the same time!!!

So I guess I better finish with a Capri then, as this is a Capri site!!! So does this count???
ImageCapri undercover by jon taylor, on Flickr
