Capri on Steve Wright

Post by Andrew 2.8i »

Two mentions that I heard, although it could have been more, for the Capri on The Big Show today. I think the subject was listeners' favourite cars that they have owned.

One from a current owner called Rachel who owns a 1986 2.8 Special, and there was somebody called Aaron who used to own a 2.0 Laser.
Does anybody on here know Rachel?

I thought Jason would have called in about the Pinto, what with it being the best engine in the world! :D

It's surprising how often the Capri gets mentioned on the TV and radio.
Bobbie Pryor told Steve that she currently owns a Consul Capri and has also owned them in the past.

Yes you're dead right, they're mentioned frequently, very popular and well remembered car. Ford struck gold with their mindset of the car, and that hasn't really faded.

I remember watching S&H Friday evenings I think probably 8 or 9.00.

I can recall some Professionals and Sweeney but not that much.

What have we got on now that even comes close :?
Admittedly Life on Mars, and Ashes to Ashes were good, but can't see those being aired much more. I even watch Heartbeat now and again for the cars and to hear some decent music  Oh and currently the nurse in it is quite nice

Scrolling through the channels this morning I was delighted to see Ashes to Ashes on the Drama channel. Great way to start the day watching Gene Hunt abusing some low life

Further looking on the same channel, I saw Life on Mars is on in the early hours of the morning! At least if I can't sleep I know something good on.
