Black Swan Dec 2021 Breakfast Meet

Post by Taff50ish »

Hi All,

Well, I managed to get out once more before the end of the year... :D :D :D But another rainy day, but Hey-Ho.... So lets crack on. Early'ish start today, 08:15 approx and headed off South bound down to the village of Ockham, just off the A3 there!!! To the Black Swan (pic's in the Gallery) where I was in June earlier this year, but today it was much, much quieter than then... I was chatting with one of the Marshals and he said that was one of their busiest days this year. They hold their car meets on the 2nd Sunday of the Month if anyone is interested? Today's was just a 1 off for Christmas / New Year I think???
Anyhow, I got down there and I'm glad I did, there was not many (compared with June) here, but what was, was amazing!!! So where to start....??? I know, we'll start off with the Fords...

Nice to see this supporting the Steel Rostyle's....

Again in the Steel Rostyle's but with the larger Off-Set

Perhaps this needs some Ford Mudflaps???

Stunning colour, but it sure does show the muck off the road!!!

Really nice...
ImageBS Pic 4 by jon taylor, on Flickr

Someone brought a Capri supporting the Fluffy Dice!!! Who would do that!!!!
ImageBS Pic 5 by jon taylor, on Flickr

It seemed popular for a short while....
ImageBS Pic 6 by jon taylor, on Flickr
P.S. Not washed since before the Boxing Day run out!!!! Don't have a go..... :P :P :P

Good to see some American brute force out in this weather too...
ImageBS Pic 7 by jon taylor, on Flickr

Not sure what was under the 'Hood', but it sounded amazing!!!
ImageBS Pic 8 by jon taylor, on Flickr

So lets get straight into the Germans then.... You honestly don't see many of these now-a-days!!! Great to see this out n about...
ImageBS Pic 9 by jon taylor, on Flickr
I offered to open the door, but couldn't work it out!!! :xd:  :xd:

Stunning example of the Coffee table!!!
ImageBS Pic 10 by jon taylor, on Flickr

And back to where it all started... (again!!)
ImageBS Pic 11 by jon taylor, on Flickr

Now this really was something else!!! Very well turned out, amazing to be honest....
ImageBS Pic 12a by jon taylor, on Flickr

And judging by the Load-Lock track, I recon it gets used as intended??? Brilliant!!!
ImageBS Pic 12b by jon taylor, on Flickr

While we're on the Beemers, heres one which got stuck and needed a tow!!! ops!!!! Don't park in the wet field!!!
ImageBS Pic 13 by jon taylor, on Flickr

This was a bit tasty, sorry I couldn't really get a front shot...
ImageBS Pic 14a by jon taylor, on Flickr

What a dash....
ImageBS Pic 14b by jon taylor, on Flickr

A lovely old Viva with a great history story fixed to the window... Yes, I didn't get a pic of this!!! Sorry...
ImageBS Pic 15 by jon taylor, on Flickr

A late arrival, but well worth it for a modern motor!!!
ImageBS Pic 16 by jon taylor, on Flickr

OK then, we'll hit the Brit's for a while then. There is a treat at the end of this section!!!
ImageBS Pic 17 by jon taylor, on Flickr

Lets stick with the Yellow then...
A Moggy on Mag Slots!!! Brilliant!!!
ImageBS pic 18a by jon taylor, on Flickr

ImageBS Pic 18c by jon taylor, on Flickr

Sorry for the focus. I copped for a gust of wind... Opss...
ImageBS Pic 19 by jon taylor, on Flickr

Another Rover, but not the 3500 which seem quite 'common' now-a-days... Not sure if that's the correct term to use, but it was nice to see this 2200...
ImageBS Pic 20 by jon taylor, on Flickr

Is this a Dart??? Andrew????
ImageBS Pic 21 by jon taylor, on Flickr

A bit of Quick Brit!!!!
ImageBS Pic 22 by jon taylor, on Flickr

I feel a bit honored to have had a close up with these!!!! No commentary for them... Just enjoy the dedication to drive these here!!!!

Well, that's all for now.... Actually no, its not!!!! Here is the field I parked in, in June this year, right at the far left center!!! And totally different for this forum are the only vehicles which should park in a wet field!!! Nice one guys!!!

Hi John,
Along with the others there, well done for making the effort in those weather conditions!

Cars are only pieces of metal, but when it comes to it I struggle with taking mine out in bad weather, also I don't enjoy standing around in the rain either :)

:goodluck:

Hi John,
You're certainly making the most of this bad weather.....

As always, what great photos of so many wonderful cars, thanks for brightening up my day! My appetite has been well and truly whetted for the upcoming show season now.
My star of the show is that lacquer red Capri :D :D :D ..........Your car always attracts a lot of attention at shows, and rightly so.

The Dart is indeed that, or an SP250 to be pedantic.... :sorry:
While I'm being a pedant, the old racing Bristol is an AC Greyhound. :sorry: :sorry:

Thanks again for all these fantastic photos.

Andrew.

Useless trivia for race fans:
The Tyrrell F1 team were based not far from the Black Swan in Ockham.

Hi Andy, Andrew,

I think if I had the choice made for me, I wouldn't take it out in this sort of weather too. But its just too much fun with the rear wheel drive not to... :xd:  :D :xd:

Yep, I knew again you would be able to put me right on the Bristol... Wasn't 100% but now I know!!! The Dart.... OK, now you're just showing off...   Well done though!!!

Yep, I'm really looking forward to the new season of meets etc... Speaking of which.... just got back form what I can only assume is the first meet of the Year??? Watch this space for further pics...

Cheers all for now,

John...

P.S. Happy New Year all....
