Walton Bridge Breakfast Club December 2021

Post by Taff50ish »

Morning all,

So just got back from a great breakfast meet down at Walton Bridge. A cold, grey, damp start this morning and a filthy blast round part of the M25, but still plenty of Smiles-per-Mile and lots of waves for the Nutter out in a Capri in this weather at this time of year!!! Great!!! As I knew the Cappa would get filthy on the way here, I didn't even bother with the usual 'chuck a bucket of water at it', just started her up and on my way.

So I got there approx 08:20 and the car park was already over half full, so I got parked up and Kris was straight over to see me. Last time I saw Kris was at, well,,,,,, Walton bridge a few Months ago!!! Had a really good catch up and then set about with a wander round what had been brought out to play and I do mean play, the roads were very slippy this morning!!! :xd: :xd: :xd:

So here we go with the Pics, by the time I got to take a few shots, I had been joined by another Black RS as a few weeks ago, he in turn was joined by a very nice Beetle...

Just across from me was a very nice Scimitar, which proved hard to get a clear photo of...

You can make out my new stripes in this one. I kept the originals as long as I could, but they were just too tatty in the end!!!! replaced all round...

I eventually got a great pic of it though...
Image20211212_085130 by jon taylor, on Flickr

And the TR7 parked next to it too...
Image20211212_085126 by jon taylor, on Flickr

So while we're on the Triumphs, what about this one then???
Image20211212_085023 by jon taylor, on Flickr

And this one, roof up but still great to see them out n about!!!
Image20211212_085436 by jon taylor, on Flickr

And now the Saloon version!!!
Image20211212_085445 by jon taylor, on Flickr

So lets stay with the Brits a little longer then... here's a nice set of 3500cc's........
Image20211212_085309 by jon taylor, on Flickr
Both mint.... Great to see out and about!!!! Hats off....

So a few more Brits then....
Image20211212_092532 by jon taylor, on Flickr

I thought this was a '5', but once it passed us, it was actually a '6'. No idea how to tell the difference with these, well the badge on the rear I guess, but again, amazing to see out....
Image20211212_090539 by jon taylor, on Flickr

So we'll keep with the Aston theme for now...
Image20211212_091250 by jon taylor, on Flickr

Another fast Brit...
Image20211212_085452 by jon taylor, on Flickr

And a slightly slower one....
Image20211212_085527 by jon taylor, on Flickr
Sorry I lost the back of this, but I was trying to get the Quattro in shot!!!

So then, here's the Quattro... I love these....
Image20211212_085546 by jon taylor, on Flickr

Opss, so back to the Brits again.... More German stuff to come in a bit!!!

Another MG. And NOT the new Kia version.... Well, the new things look like a Kia of some description... What a terrible fate for that Badge... Quick Quizz, no prizes, but do you know what MG stands for???? I'm guessing all on this forum will know this.... Even though it's not Ford....
Image20211212_085538 by jon taylor, on Flickr

A little collection of Mini's...
Image20211212_085841 by jon taylor, on Flickr
For the keen eyed among us. Yes that is Kris's Cappa hiding behind them...

Lets keep the Mini theme for a min or 2...
Image20211212_084441 by jon taylor, on Flickr

A brave one here....
Image20211212_091326 by jon taylor, on Flickr
Perhaps you can't tell from this angle, but a soft top with the roof down and Christmas Decorations all over the roll bar... Cracking!!!!

So onto the Germans then. This is simply stunning!!!
Image20211212_085100(0) by jon taylor, on Flickr

And where it all started....
Image20211212_085027 by jon taylor, on Flickr

Lets keep old skool for now....
Image20211212_085951 by jon taylor, on Flickr

A true classic in my eyes...
Image20211212_085324 by jon taylor, on Flickr

So nice to see one of these in original condition, which hasn't been Slammed, Bastardised etc in one way or another!!!
Image20211212_085419 by jon taylor, on Flickr
Thats just my personal opinion. There's no right or wrong on this subject, I love seeing what people can do...

If I'd not seen this drive in and then lower down, I would have thought it had been dumped. What a Great Camper!!!
ImageVW camper 3 by jon taylor, on Flickr
Sounded great too....

Nice Pick-up!!!!
ImageVW van1 by jon taylor, on Flickr

Well, I'd best get a few Ford's in I recon.....
How's about this one to kick us off????
ImageEscort 1 by jon taylor, on Flickr

Or this one.... 2 of this one....
Image20211212_091711 by jon taylor, on Flickr
Image20211212_091737 by jon taylor, on Flickr

Keep with the Escort theme then for now...
Image20211212_085215 by jon taylor, on Flickr
Twinned with this I recon...
Image20211212_085138 by jon taylor, on Flickr
Sorry, I'm sneaking in there again...

Nice MKII...
Image20211212_085300 by jon taylor, on Flickr

A little different.... I used to have a too....
Image20211212_092831 by jon taylor, on Flickr

So a few different from the morning...
This was on full air ride....

Image20211212_091047 by jon taylor, on Flickr

Image20211212_091007 by jon taylor, on Flickr

This had what appeared to be the Biggest V8 block, shoehorned into the bay and they had got it really low down in there.... Really tidy job all round...
Image20211212_085815 by jon taylor, on Flickr

OK then. One for Andrew here!!! A Fiat 500 estate??? What the Hell is this.......
Image20211212_085354 by jon taylor, on Flickr

For a moment, just a moment, I thought I'd found my old company car!!!?????
Image20211212_084508 by jon taylor, on Flickr

And finally, we'll end on a Capri then, well, rude not to....

Kris, great to see you as ever....
Image20211212_085608 by jon taylor, on Flickr
Winter wheels fitted.... Good thinking buddy!!!!

As I was getting ready to leave I spotted this beauty on the road..... It did get busy in the car park...
Image20211212_093723 by jon taylor, on Flickr
Hats off for the reg number....

Well, that could be the last one for this year. Roll on 2022 and fingers crossed for a much better year with Shows, meets etc... Cheers all,

John...

Great pics John, and good to see people out and about still

Nothing much happening around here so no real point taxing until the spring!

CAP28Y belongs to Mike Foreman, he's owned lots of Capris over the years.

Hi John,
That looks like a great meet with a good selection of Capris, it looks quite cold and wet there though. It's good to see so many cars out and about.
Thanks for sharing so many brilliant photos.

Your new side stripes look amazing, are they from DMB graphics?

The Fiat 500 is actually an Autobianchi Giardiniera, and they've got to be mega rare in this country.

Finally, please sir...sir.....I know what MG stands for !

Andrew.

Hi all,

Sorry for the late reply. Got the folks staying with me as Dad broke his hip in Oct, so been looking after them. Unfortunately, the day after this meet, he fell again and broke his other hip!!! Just got him out the Hospital before Christmas, so that was lucky!!!

Anyhow, Cheers Andrew. I got the Stripe kits from John Hill at the Capri Club. They do look good and I'm so glad I had them fitted now too.... I knew you wouldn't let us down on the Fiat 500 estate, quite rare then!!! As to the quiz, yep!!! :D :D :D Well done!!!

Jason, I hope the missus is ok buddy??? Fingers crossed for you both...

Andy, come on.... The weather ain't that bad!!!! :xd: :xd: :xd: Wait till you see my Boxing Day run out!!!! :drive: :drive: :drive:

Merry Christmas all, cheers,

John....
