American Police Capri

Post by pbar »

This pic is from a Facebook page called Ford Capri Collecting, Models, Toys & Memorabilia. Didn't realise that the Capri was a police car in America? Or was it a toy only perhaps. (Note it's left hand drive too)

Great find!
Presumably that's a Japanese tinplate toy?
I wouldn't have thought it's based on a real police car, but it would make a great addition to a collection nonetheless.

Andrew.

Why would Highway Patrol have a small engined Capri though?
Seems a bit pointless if you're chasing all those big old V8s.

(Flat bonnet, in case you're wondering what I'm on about)

Also not sure that jelly on the roof would survive a high-speed pursuit. :xd:

Hehe, you made me take a second look, very funny Martin! As regards to your why/small engine comment, have you ever seen Heartbeat, just look at some of the Police cars we used to have, surprised they could catch a crimial who's even walking away.
