Whilst on my little 'tour' in the last couple of days we weren't too far from the British Museum at Gaydon. The Capri was parked up in Kettering so I was slumming it in my mates ecoboost Fiesta but the museum was great with around 300 cars on display that chart the history of British motoring. I took quite a few pictures so I'll probably do a couple of posts. Here are some of the rarer prototypes and research cars.

Re: British Motor Museum
Hi Peter,
Thanks for uploading these photos, great stuff! I've never been to Gaydon but I want to make the effort to go now, after seeing what's there. There are some wonderful exhibits there, for my sins, I especially like that TR7.
It looks as though they've allowed plenty of space around the cars so you can have a good look at them. Unlike Beaulieu where the cars are crammed in like sardines!
Andrew.

Re: British Motor Museum
Thanks Andrew. Certainly worth a visit for a car enthusiast such as yourself. Some cars are closer than others and the area referred to as the 'reserve collection' is a bit more like a car park but easy access is possible down one side of each vehicle although some are a bit nose to tail.Andrew 2.8i wrote: ↑Mon Jul 12, 2021 3:59 pm Hi Peter,

The reserve collection in the other building is pretty cool. Two XJ220s together (show car, and first production one I think, or maybe the last). way cool. Never seen that XJ convertible, that is a PROPER spivs motah, imagine the crumpet you'd be pulling in that!
That Princess thing looks like it should have a row of spotlights and be tearing up a rally stage!
I remember the MG record cars being very interesting when I saw them a couple of years ago. Its something not many people are aware of now, because MG as a brand is now just a badge for chinese built white-goods SUVs.
