The trim and corners spread the seal apart , fits more securely and it pushes the outer edge of the seal closer to the painted surface . This trim ,I believe , was only on the mk1 ( someone mention this above ) and that is the diff between mk1 and mk2 seals. Google it up and see how its done , vid is worth a thousand words an all that .

Yeah , your probly right , I am not really familiar with either mk1 or 2 .
