I thought I'd get a gold membership as I am, apparently, "loaded" and I thought the price was reasonable anyway .... :D

Did it come with a free gift ?

Hehe, yes Jason, the brown envelope it came in! In fact, I do wish they would stop sending it in the usual see-through bag, as it advertises the fact that we have a Capri doesn't it?
I get Flypast magazine delivered every month. That's how Jason found out that I own a Spitfire.

Yes, at the renewal the year before last, I think. I've still got some time to go before I break even!

I must admit, I've thought about it a few times, and in hindsight (which is a terrible thing!) I wish I had done, as I'd be into profit now I would think. What puts me off now is, what would happen if John calls it a day and the Club folds?

Any other benefits other than the early arrival of the magazine?

Just a few gifts and lifetime free entry into the CCI shows.
Like you I wished I'd done it when I first joined the club. The John Hill thing did cross my mind, but in the end I just took the plunge.

If and when John calls it a day then the parts scene will be totally screwed but there seems to be a large number of owners who are too blinkered to see this. They are so fixated with it being a business, look around you, all major car clubs are in fact businesses, that's how they generate income to re invest in parts etc to keep the cars on the road. I have been a member now for almost 34 years, I was a member long before setting up my business and I can honestly say that in all that time I have never had an issue with any parts and to be honest the Capri Club shows are the only ones that don't rip me off for a pitch price when I'm trading. Instead of constantly bitching owners should be thankful for the parts suppliers but in my experience it simply isn't that way. Yes , there is the internet, E bay etc but the large majority of sellers have no clue what they're selling .

Well that isn't my outlook, I've often championed the Club and said how worse off we would be if it folded. I know that Andrew feels the same, so that's at least three of us Martin. So there's the beginnings of a little fan club for the Club!

Well it's a shocker, but my magazine came already, earlier this week. Never been so early. Things are looking up! Almost negates the option of paying the totally extortionate and unreasonable amount for the Gold membership. I only know of two people rich enough to pay that, and one of them is Rishi Sunak :)

The cost of CCI membership has been static for quite a few years now. I wouldn't be very surprised if, due to spiralling costs, that was to rise very soon.
The gold membership is inflation proof.
Perhaps Rishi Sunak knows a thing or two about economics? :)

Hehe :) And perhaps not! Only his own economics maybe (and his wife's), but as for the rest of the country, that's very dubious.

Interestingly, the latest club magazine was posted in a white envelope.
I assume the reason for this is for enhanced privacy. However, the front of the envelope has the return address for the Capri Club printed on it, so if privacy is the reason that has driven the change, the idea was rather ill-conceived!

I would call a staff meeting and have it out with them , also mention about your earl grey tea being cold the other day

Andrew I think yours is sent early from the Club office, they just used a different colour envelope, I think you mentioned previously it is a brown envelope as my replacements have always been, whereas the normal members receive theirs distributed in the usual see through packet. Mine was unusually early this time, came a couple of days ago.
