Battlesbridge Classic Ford Show 2018

Post by Taff50ish »

Hi All,

Well I managed to get to this show again this year as planned and I am so glad I did make it. Yes there where fewer cars there due to the weather I guess, but it was still a great show and some amazing cars there again... I covered myself in Sun cream as I did not at the Ace and got totally burnt... So no worries of that happening here, anyhow, on with the photos, as as ever we will start with NON Capris for a change!!!

So here is a very nice old ford of some sort???
Image20180812_122253 by John Taylor, on Flickr

And the view under the bonnet....
Image20180812_122301 by John Taylor, on Flickr

So now your appitite has been wetted we'll move on...
Hows this for a tasty Hot Rod???
Image20180812_122050 by John Taylor, on Flickr

Or this??? I'm sure I have another Pic of this some where, but I took too many to sort through!!! Ekk.....
Image20180812_115008 by John Taylor, on Flickr

Another nice one here...
Image20180812_114723 by John Taylor, on Flickr

So lets get onto the Sierra's then, so I'll start with a very nice colour one, what do you recon?
Image20180812_123206 by John Taylor, on Flickr

And a Cossie Sapphire, with the correct Lollipop Stick wheeles!!!
Image20180812_122708 by John Taylor, on Flickr

How's about a nice XR4i then???
Image20180812_120843 by John Taylor, on Flickr

Another XR4i for you, nice wheels....
Image20180812_120743 by John Taylor, on Flickr

And yet another XR4i, with the correct wheels!!!! Very nice indeed...
Image20180812_120832 by John Taylor, on Flickr

One for Andy here... Very nice...
Image20180812_120825 by John Taylor, on Flickr

And yet another 4X4!!! great under bonnet paint job here!!!!
Image20180812_120812 by John Taylor, on Flickr

And we have to do an original Cossie 500.... What do you think???
Image20180812_120618 by John Taylor, on Flickr

And the final Sierra for this visit... Just reminded me of the Wheel Dealer one!!!!
Image20180812_120601 by John Taylor, on Flickr

So on to the Escorts then... I'll start with the MKI's...
Image20180812_114804 by John Taylor, on Flickr

This was very striking I must say, I'm not usually a lover of the 'Roll Cage' look, but this does carry it off well...
Image20180812_120040 by John Taylor, on Flickr

I can't tell which are original and which arn't, but to be honest, if they are this good. Who cares? This is great!!!
Image20180812_121923 by John Taylor, on Flickr

We'll hit the Porn a little early this year then... A peak under the bonnet...
Image20180812_121947 by John Taylor, on Flickr

Lets move onto the MKII's then and I'll start with this one, as it was the first I saw, having parked next to this beauty!!!
Image20180812_114501 by John Taylor, on Flickr

Then on to this one, I have seen this before, but I do still like this the colour jumps out at you...
Image20180812_114645 by John Taylor, on Flickr

How about this one then for one of the strange colours, but still amazing!!!
Image20180812_115301 by John Taylor, on Flickr

Another RS200 beauty, I do like these as you can probably tell???
Image20180812_122724 by John Taylor, on Flickr

This one also caught my eye, its a four door but kinda converted to 2 door.... Nick, recognise the Lights???
Image20180812_122333 by John Taylor, on Flickr

Thats your lot for the RS2000's then. So on to these cracking motors!!!!
Image20180812_121843 by John Taylor, on Flickr

A Cracking MKII Sport, nice to see one not slammed to the deck!!!
Image20180812_121859 by John Taylor, on Flickr

So we better do the Granada's then!!!
Image20180812_120358 by John Taylor, on Flickr

OK then, thats those coverd!!! I just have too many Pics to get up here, sorry. so on to the Fiesta's then...
Image20180812_122810 by John Taylor, on Flickr

So now on to the Cortina's. I am sorry but I do have a lot to get through, there where a lot of really nice Fiesta's here and Granada's too, but I must move on...
Nearly an exact replica of one of my Dad's Cortina's, but his was Roman Bronze and the drivers door fell off on the M62 in the first week of ownership, but it was a great car in my young eyes and still is!!!
Image20180812_122634 by John Taylor, on Flickr

A few more Cortina's. Ops, A Capri has snuck in early!!! Sorry!!!!
Image20180812_114917 by John Taylor, on Flickr

Again, nearly the same as the MKIV my Dad had, except his was a 1.6, oh and it was a GL, oh, in Beige too... OK it's nothing like his, but still a great car... Mind the Void bushes!!!
Image20180812_115058 by John Taylor, on Flickr

And finally a MKV... Still like these today... Get a nice 2.0 Crusader!!!
Image20180812_122510 by John Taylor, on Flickr

So what is left to cover??? MKIII Escorts and later, so lets start with this one, on the original wheels again!!!
Image20180812_120732 by John Taylor, on Flickr

How about a nice Turbo???
Image20180812_114838 by John Taylor, on Flickr

Nice back end!!!
Image20180812_122929 by John Taylor, on Flickr

Or a later XR3i???
Image20180812_120724 by John Taylor, on Flickr

OK, I'm going to have a break now and go for the Porn!!! Automotive style that is!!!
Image20180812_120113 by John Taylor, on Flickr

I don't really have anything I can add to these next few, so I won't bother trying to... Enjoy!!!
Image20180812_120142 by John Taylor, on Flickr

Image20180812_120204 by John Taylor, on Flickr

Image20180812_121909 by John Taylor, on Flickr

Image20180812_122404 by John Taylor, on Flickr

So I guess it's time to hit the Cappa's then. So here we go I won't keep gabbing on here, just enjoy the pic's!!!

So we'll start with Steve's, still looking fresh as ever from the Ace last week. great to see and catch up again Steve, cheers!!!
Image20180812_121823 by John Taylor, on Flickr

And now Andrew's, who I'm sure you'll recognise!!! Just no point trying to say how stunning this is, so I won't... Enjoy!!!
Image20180812_115403 by John Taylor, on Flickr

And the shot for Nick here...
Image20180812_115848 by John Taylor, on Flickr

From a distance this still stands out!!!
Image20180812_115348 by John Taylor, on Flickr

A great looking Cappa and a Great Paint job next to this one too!!!
Image20180812_114558 by John Taylor, on Flickr

My Pic doesn't do this justice to be honest, great car and great conversion!!!
Image20180812_114630 by John Taylor, on Flickr

This one snuck in earlier, but still worth a second look...
Image20180812_114929 by John Taylor, on Flickr

Image20180812_122054 by John Taylor, on Flickr

Image20180812_122618 by John Taylor, on Flickr

Too many nice wheels for me to pick my favourites!!

The yellow capri has awesome wheels though, and love the white flared arches/deep dish wheels combo!
The XR4i with five spokes looks the biz!

Andrew's car has made me fall in love all over again though, that is absolutely stunning! That engine bay is shockingly clean and a fair play for it

Great pictures John and a real pleasure to meet you again! I had so many people come up to me Sunday the day just flew! I know quite a few of the cars and their owners but won’t ramble on about it!
Was a great show especially with the weather not being the best.
At one point I lifted my bonnet for a minute to show someone something then a flock of people just appear to have a nose!
Not complaining though.
Enjoyed my day and am looking forward to the next one at Aylesford. I’ll try and get some pictures myself.

Great to bump into you again John..A good show as always despite the lower numbers due to the weather...I admire yours and Nicks patience when it comes to taking and uploading the photo's....Great job as always...Look forward to your coverage of the 50th :D
The Black beast with the wheels and arches is my son's James...It was its first real run out since the ST170 went in.It is a "Built not Bought" he is very hands on and all the install is his own work. The bonnet only went back on Saturday at about 6.30pm and it was a wing and a prayer hoping that it made it as it not tuned properly and the exhaust is a temporary measure held on with a bit of flexipipe-studding and copper wire....Made it there and back okay..

Fair play to your son then, car looks great! Love those meaty wide wheels
Engine bay looks pretty clean and tidy as well, can see that he has spent some time on it, can't have been easy either

I wholeheartedly agree with that. From what I can see in the photos, Andrew's S must be one of the very best Capris in existence. Loving that ceramic coated manifold! 8-)
I hope I'm able to see the car in person one day.

Andrew.
