Queen Square, Bristol, April 2017 (Picture Heavy)

Post by Andrew 2.8i »

Hi,
A few chaps from the forum met up at the latest Queen Square Breakfast meet, it was great to meet up with them all again.
It was a brilliant day with some amazing cars to see, and the weather couldn't have been better for April!
Anyway, without further ado:

A couple of stunning forum cars that will be familiar to you all.
John's car with new headlights.

Image

Danny's car with new wheels.

Image

Rob's ride for the day.

Image

All the others are in no particular order....

Anyone have any ideas what this kit is? I'm thinking it's Clan based.

And finally, a shot of the three forum Capris together.

I hope that you enjoyed looking through the photos.

Andrew.

Thanks Andrew, some great pics as usual :applaud: Forum Capri's look great, but no close up of yours :?

Great weather for a meet, but it seems too nice too soon  Hope it lasts.....

Think I recognise the 2 dodgy looking Geezers next to the 'Y' Reg Jag.....

Thanks, I'm pleased that you liked them. As always, there was a great variety of classics.

Great meet today, weather was the best yet, which must have helped the turnout. Great to catch up with you & John & to finally meet Nick & Danny  . Must have taken you an age to upload & even though we did a few circuits, there were still cars in your pictures we didn't see due to the ever changing cars. Can't wait to drive the Capri & convoy in with you guys. Didn't notice Johns new lights as car looks like new anyway :D , Danny's wheels look stunning against the shiny black paint, don't forget to take a picture of yours next time Andrew, Capri was looking amazing as usual.
Good day out, all the best,
Rob

Hi Rob,
Yes, it was good to catch up with you and Corey, and nice to hear how well work on your Capri is progressing.
This must have been one of the best QS meets ever for cars and also the weather!

Hi Andrew,

Wow ! That was quick fella. Thanks for uploading your fantastic photos of a brilliant morning out in Bristol. I was glad to finally get down in time to actually see some classics !! Really enjoyed this morning, albeit setting my alarm clock for 4am to give me time to meet up with John and Danny en route to meeting you but it was worth the early start for sure. Seen some splendid cars. If I may I will try to add to your great pics starting too with the forum Capri's...

Think its only fair to start with your exceptional 2.8i. It really is a credit to you Andrew...

The other side of Dannys lovely 1.6 Laser...with 'those' 7.5's wheels...stunning !

John and Andrew side by side...

I was sure this Crayford Capri was at the 45th Brooklands Anniversary. John thought not as that Capri was Blue. I said nope sure this was it...Andrew settled the score...This was NOT at the 45th...I even got the wrong colour and wrong wheels. No need to pump the air John !!!

Rob, it was brilliant to finally meet up with you and Corey. Was great to chat face to face at last. Good luck with the work in progress on your Capri mate. Bet you counting down the days you can get it back out on the Brecon Beacons.....

Great extra pictures Nick, good to meet up at last, thanks for adding these, glad you had no issues with your neighbors cat this time & made it on time ;) That red Kitcar was a Hensen M30 Andrew, one of only 17 ever made , no wonder we didn't know what it was :D must be one of the rarest cars in the country, interesting car but with a challenging front end which probably aided its 'exclusivity', good to see it on the day though.

Now your're taking the piss. I can just see John 'pumping the air again if he's reading this

Now you must have waited for ages to get that pic of the Blue one at Brooklands cause every bleedin time I tried 'that' lady was sitting in in. Dont know if thats worse than the 'foldable chair' brigade who very selfishly sit behind their cars ruining any chance of a decent 'rear' shot. At least Andy and the XROC guys have a mini marque they sit under

I think my favorites were the beige Montego and the red left hand drive Lada!

There's some seriously lovely cars there, that green Manta series A is up there for me - beautiful and nearly as good as the Capri's.

Can't wait until my heap is ready and I'll add to the convoy going down the M4. If Nick ever takes his it will then be 3 laquer reds and a black one in covoy! Unfortunately doing up my house to rent out so Capri is on go slow - or go even slower than normal!

Hi Paul,
Those are the types of car I really enjoy seeing at car shows. Mundane, everyday cars of yesteryear that just aren't seen these days.
The Montego photo isn't the best, but the driver didn't stop and display the car, just did a lap of the square then went. Luckily, I just caught him!
QS is a brilliant morning out and is highly recommended.

For anybody that didn't go, I should point out that I walked around the driver's side of the car to find Nick lying on the floor, peering underneath...
