Wanted: Strut Piston Top Nut Plastic Cap.
Hi,
I hope everyone is well.
Wanted: one of those plastic caps that cover the nut at the top of the strut piston? That's the one that sits in the centre of the top mount.
I've had a look on Ebay, but can't find anything that seems to match the shape of the original.
Thanks in advance,
Andrew.

Hi Andrew,
Not 100% sure but are they not the same as the wheel nut covers on L/GL models like these ones below?

Cheers

That`s a good find, certainly looks close. Just depends on the size of the strut top nut, I thought it was 17mm?

To be honest I've never taken mine off or measured! I bought a batch for the wheels a while back pretty cheap so if it were me I'd look for some of the wheel ones and stick them on somehow as they weren't that priceystevemarl wrote:That`s a good find, certainly looks close. Yep, you`re absolutely right, a blob of silicone and nobody would know the difference.

Alternatively, you could smear the inside with flexible sealant and let it dry, it will give it a rubberised grip but will still be removable.

Thanks for the link. Those caps are similar in design to the one I want, I suppose somebody would have to be a right anorak to tell the difference.
Andrew.

IIRC in person they look identical apart from maybe a 2mm difference as suggested above but a few good options to avoid them being loose!Andrew 2.8i wrote:Hi Danny,D366Y wrote:Not 100% sure but are they not the same as the wheel nut covers on L/GL models like these ones below?

The strut top ones ARE slightly different size to the GL wheel nut caps.
I have both types and can post.

Oof now you're asking Paul!
I will dig through my emails and see if I can find where I got them from but it was 5years ago so make no promises

Hehe, no worries Danny, don't go to too much trouble but would be much appreciated if you do remember.

No worries, I thought the price was quite reasonable so thought they may be of interest!
