Capri Mk3 1.6 AUTO CABARET II 1983

Post by martincc »

Based in North Essex, I have been the proud owner of a 1983 1.6 two tone Cabaret II Automatic for the last twelve years.
Finished in Glacier blue and Caspian blue the car is best described as "Good" with 103,000 miles and MOT to July 2017.
The time has come where I may consider selling this beauty to a genuine Capri enthusiast only for what I understand to be the current market value of £2600.
Very clean but complete with all the usual Capri defects ( too numerous to list here !), the registration is HAR 341Y so please feel free to check its ten year MOT and mileage history on the government website.
Howmanyleft.co.uk indicates it is the only one of its kind left on the road. I do not have a photobucket account at the moment but would be willing to post a few pics if this post gets any interest. Please feel free to ask any questions.
If you need a reminder of the colour and trim spec of this model a similar but superior 2.0 model was posted on these pages in 2014 at this link

Forgot to Mention the Car is wholly original apart from having a Weber Carb and manual choke installed to replace the unreliable automatic V V.
Any questions please ask.

Hi Jim
Thanks for your interest !
The Cabaret II was one of the Mark 3's which never had them fitted as standard.
I have the original Ford Brochure (see photo) and they are nowhere to be seen !

Thanks for the reply Martin, that's very interesting because the Capri in the link you posted did? Must've been one of those things Ford did to use stuff up etc..or dealer option maybe?

Hi Jim
Well Spotted. I think the 2.0 in the link has had them added after purchase. They certainly do add something to the Car and I would pleased to see them on any Mark 3.
Regards
Martin

Hi,
If you do an online search for images, it would seem that the Cabaret has them but the Cabaret II should not.
Good luck with the sale.

Andrew.
