Granada 2.8i calipers on a capri
Granada 2.8i calipers on a capri
I have a problem fitting those, even with spacer washers and longer studs. Caliper rubs inside the hub. Has anyone done this mod before? It seems i need to move the calipers more inside the struts. Does anyone have dimensions iof adaptor plates and is it possible to buy them somewhere?

Piccies of correct brackets are on this webpage a couple up from the Ebay logo near the bottom of the page:
http://www.zyworld.com/caprisport/1_brakes.htm
There are reports that some people have had to very carefully remove a very thin amount of metal from the surface of the calliper to clear the inside of the road wheel. Obviously removing too much will render the calliper unsafe and unserviceable.
There are a few members on here who have fitted the 260 and 280mm front discs.

I can't seem to find them, they are from a granada mk2 2.8/2.8i 2 pot calipers, very similar like on capri 2.8i but bigger a bit. Not those from sierra or granada mk3/scorpio.

Its the mk3 granada a lot of us have been using as it allows us to replace the discs with 260 or 280mm instead of the 240mm the capri has. I'm not sure mk2 Calipers would give you much improvement, are you using the standard capri discs?
Re: Granada 2.8i calipers on a capri
2.8i vented discs. Will be using granada servo and brake master cylinder. Bolts with spacer washers for 2.8i don't fit granada calipers. I know newer is better, but i'm trying to use theese for now. I have standard 2.0 struts.

You could try doing more searches for M18 Granada callipers, this is the model number. Capri 2.0 is M16 calliper.
Possibly try a pair of hubcentric wheel spacers to move the wheels further out???

Re: Granada 2.8i calipers on a capri
Wheels are ok, problem is the inside of the hub, in which the caliper rubs. I need to move them further back, which means i need longer spacer washers and bolts. Not like 2.8i ones.. No one tried this alternative yet?

Hello,
I know is been 10 years since the last message, but I want to make the same upgrade. I bought the master cylinder, servo and calipers from a mk2 Granada 2.8i.
Did you manage to install them? How?
Thanks a lot!

I think these conversions were popular because thats what was easily available way back when Capris were new.
Now there are several kits available to many different spec's (and budgets ) .......that come with all brackets ,bolts and spacers needed.......just bolt it on . Save yourself some agro(maybe some money in the long run ) and buy such a kit ........be better than just fitting a larger size of the same crappy old brakes you already have.
