I did go back in November/early December but totally forgot to take any pictures 🙃

Anyway, went back yesterday and she is really coming along now.
When the outer sill was cut off it naturally revealed all the rot and grot underneath on the inner seal so Phil has been battling that now as well
Now all sorted and outer sills on, just need to tidy up the footwells and end of the inner seals before sticking the bottom of the wings back on and then hopefully into paint!

Hoping for all the welding to be finished in the next 3/4 weeks so fingers crossed will be getting her back soon

Join the club - I remember going for a drive in the Mondeo on a nice sunny day earlier in the autumn and thinking "this would have been much nicer in the Capri". But rome wasn't built in a day and good things come to those who wait (other sayings are available).

Another update, inner sill ends added, just need a bit of fettling and tidying up on both sides before sticking the wings back on and then I'll need to find a painter!
Phils usual chap has stopped taking any work on due to health issues so guess I will have to start looking!

It's quite an eye-opener to see what is lurking under the surface!
Still, it all looks good now. Presumably you are just having the repaired bits painted, not the whole car?

Quite concerning more than anything, i would never have known there was so much rust lurking underneath it all!

Yes just going to have the welding areas repainted, I see no point having the whole car done as it will keep being used regularly, and also as I still don't own a house with a garage can't protect it from the elements so don't need it to have a concourse finish

It's a pain it's taking so long truth be told
Was only expecting it to be gone for a couple of months, but as we all know - once you start chopping the rot you find more and more and you go along!

Very true, it never seems to be better than you thought, always worse hehe. Bodywork/welding is a painfully slow process. And is definitely one aspect of the TV car shows which is nothing like in reality.

Again, I've found this out myself painfully! The car has been waiting for paint since about last September. I did approach a couple of different firms, wondering if I was just unlucky with the guy I'm waiting for, but they too were talking of several months' wait.

We are all so busy, that's all I ever seem to hear these days, with everything! Longer lead times for stuff, longer on hold times when you phone someone, longer waiting times when you need something. Was at the dentist recently and a guy come in with a problem, he was told there's a wait of around a year. Can only assume there are so many people wanting things and so few people providing them?

There was a Ukrainian lady, refugee (I think) here in UK... she ended up going back to Ukraine to get dental treatment!

Sounds a bit drastic, but I can sure see why! It's often thought that people from other countries might come here to 'get' things, such as medical treatments, and it may or may not be the case I don't know. But, the way things are I just couldn't imagine why anyone would do so right now.
