The short story is the old girl has been playing up ? Since lock down . She drives on the button but if after a few hours and getting stuck in traffic would just turn off & be jumping and spitting when I got her going again . Then she would drive fine .
So after a few coils , leads and her doing it again this year I had all the electrics changed .
But last week I went for a great drive got home was just parking on the drive . You guessed it she turned off .
I did a video once I got her stated again and found the problem ………….

So I had her relayed up to Day & Whites next to brands hatch and they are getting my old knackered carburettor refurbished , I can’t fault them as they do some stunning work and have put up with me most of this year

Ah , the ole home made cork gasket :) .I remember moaning that I had to buy a whole m2 of that stuff for a small job ........yep ,eventually used it all , damn handy stuff .
Having gasket paper and punches ect can save $$$$$$$ and get the job finished :)

Isn`t that LOVE (LO Vacuum Enrichment) device diaphragm identical to the accelerator pump one, sure the Weber overhaul kit includes both and one just has a tab on one corner? Should be an easy/cheap fix?

Sometimes it's better to get these jobs done so it hopefully prevents more issues later on

Thanks a lot Jason, I think I have a version of that one, I'll have to check as there have been a few editions/revisions.

Doesn't Jason's car look gorgeous, even when it's on the back of a recovery truck? :D
I hope you get the carb issues sorted soon.

Andrew.

Yes for sure, certainly at times the Autodata, as well as the SP manual below, are every bit as helpful as the Haynes.
